Kael awoke to the bright sunlight streaming through the window, momentarily wondering if everything that had transpired was just a dream. However, before he could even get to his feet and start his day, Rorik's voice echoed through the room, accompanied by persistent knocking. "Wake up, Kael! You'll be late for the test on your first day! Hurry up!"
Kael, shocked and still groggy, leaped out of bed and hastily dressed himself. He flung open the door and greeted Rorik, who promptly began urging him towards the Grand Arcane Coliseum, where the test would take place.
"Kael, you sleepyhead! The test is about to begin!" Rorik exclaimed, trying to suppress a grin.
Kael, flustered, quickly checked his clothes to ensure they were on correctly. "I can't believe I overslept! What kind of mage oversleeps on the day of their big test?" he groaned, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
Rorik chuckled, patting Kael on the back. "Don't worry, Kael. You're not the first, and you certainly won't be the last.
As they hurried down the academy's hallways, Kael marveled at the intricate details and elaborate decorations adorning the walls. He could sense the magical energy permeating every inch of the academy, and the air buzzed with anticipation and excitement.
Upon arriving at the Grand Arcane Coliseum, Kael was awestruck by its splendor. The open-air arena bustled with activity as students, faculty, and spectators gathered to observe the Magical Aptitude Test and Elemental Affinity Test. The atmosphere was electric, and Kael couldn't help but feel a mixture of exhilaration and anxiety as he surveyed the scene before him.
Rorik patted Kael on the back, attempting to boost his spirits. "Don't worry, buddy! You'll do great! I hope.."
Kael nodded, trying to summon his confidence. "Thanks, Rorik. I'll do my best."
As they made their way to the designated area for test participants, they spotted Luna waiting for them at the entrance to the Grand Arcane Coliseum. She waved and smiled warmly at Kael, as beautiful as ever. Her smile instantly brightened Kael's day, giving him a surge of confidence and easing the tension he felt.
Taking a deep breath, Kael mentally prepared himself for the challenges that lay ahead. He knew that this test would be the first step in proving himself at the Luminis Academy and was determined to give it his all.
The crowd swelled with excitement, whispers of curiosity and anticipation filled the air. Many were eager to catch a glimpse of Kael, the boy who fell from the sky. The pressure mounted as Kael stepped up to take the Magical Aptitude Test. He couldn't help but feel guilty for those who had gathered to watch him, knowing that they would likely be disappointed. Kael had always been considered talentless and weak, which led to the constant bullying in his previous world. How could he possibly live up to the expectations that now surrounded him?
Kael stood before the Magic Sphere, a large, luminescent orb that seemed to pulse with the very essence of magic itself. The sphere was an incredible creation, capable of measuring the amount of magic potential within a person with astonishing accuracy. It was an essential tool for the Luminis Academy to evaluate new students and guide them on their path to mastering their magical abilities.
An academy instructor approached Kael and addressed the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen, today Kael Voss will be taking the Magical Aptitude Test. This test will measure his innate magical potential, allowing us to determine his appropriate class placement within the academy."
The instructor then turned to Kael, explaining the test in detail. "Kael, you will place your hand on the Magic Sphere, and it will analyze the flow of magic within you. Based on the intensity and purity of your magical energy, the sphere will assign you a tier ranging from F being the weakest to SSS being the strongest. This will help us understand your potential as a mage."
Kael nodded, understanding the importance of the test and feeling the weight of the spectators' expectations. As the instructor gestured for him to begin, Kael steeled himself, ready to face the Magical Aptitude Test head-on.
With the crowd eagerly watching and the instructors observing closely, Kael hesitated for a moment before extending his hand toward the Magic Sphere. As his fingers made contact with the surface of the orb, it began to hum softly, the glow intensifying in response to Kael's touch.
The sphere's faint light barely reached Kael's face as he closed his eyes, focusing on the connection between his magic and the orb. He could feel a weak surge of energy coursing through his body as if the sphere was struggling to draw forth his innate magical power and analyze it.
As the sphere's dim light flickered and went out, murmurs spread through the crowd. "Is that it?" someone snickered. "So much for the boy who fell from the sky."
"Yeah, what a joke," another voice chimed in, adding to the chorus of ridicule.
Kael's connection with the sphere weakened, and he began to feel as if the very essence of magic was slipping away from him. This disheartening sensation continued until, at last, the sphere's dim light flickered and went out.
As Kael slowly withdrew his hand from the sphere, his heart racing from the intensity of the experience, the crowd, the instructors, and even Kael himself waited with bated breath for the results of the test.
The Grand Arcane Coliseum fell silent as the academy instructors prepared to announce the results of Kael's test. The tension in the air was palpable, and Kael braced himself for the inevitable disappointment. The instructor's face betrayed his concern as he announced the result. "Kael Voss, F tier."
A collective gasp echoed through the coliseum as the crowd struggled to process the information. "Pathetic," someone shouted from the stands, their voice dripping with disdain. "I can't believe we wasted our time on this kid."
"It's obvious that the story of the boy who fell from the sky and defeated a mythical monster is a sham," another spectator sneered. "He's just a talentless nobody."
Kael, just as shocked as everyone else, couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had been deemed the weakest, possessing the lowest level of magical potential. It confirmed his worst fears about himself.
Despite the crushing revelation and the harsh words from the crowd, Kael knew he couldn't give up. He would have to work even harder, find ways to overcome his limitations, and prove himself as a mage. The road ahead would be long and arduous, but Kael was determined to rise above his F-tier status and unlock his true potential, no matter what it took.
