Chapter 501 - Surprise Guests

"So, how did you like level 5? It's good, isn't it?" I smirked with a laugh. Everyone looked on in shock or horror, it was one of those two. "This is a power I learned while fighting our enemy. They fear this power, rightfully so. It completely destroys them. This is only level 5 of my Dao. And it is this Dao I intend on imparting upon as many willing souls as possible. The enemy is numerous and powerful." I continued, pausing for dramatic effect. "I may be here, as an undeniable advantage against them. However, just like us, they too have a mighty being on their side. While I am busy dealing with that one, his army may be free to wreak havoc. That is where you come in. To become the sword and shield of the army. To advance first dealing a massive blow, while being the last to retreat." I added. "If you desire this power, you must also accept the responsibility that comes with it. If you are willing, remain here and wait for further instructions. However, if you can not do this, leave. There are many masters out there from whom you could learn from. Now… What say you, are you ready to dive into the depths of destruction and learn the ways of heaven's chaos?" I finished, purposely making the last bit as esoteric as possible solely for the sake of effect, though, it's basically what will happen regardless. It's not going to be picking flowers in the garden.

Once no one left, a smirk came to my lips. The more that don't back down now, the more people with similar abilities to myself will eventually join the line. And in the event I fail… If enough of these disciples can gather. The enemy can always remain suppressed. No matter how strong or how fast they generate, the lightning I cultivate will always win, so long as the battle is between equals. Fighting a superior is not going to be easy… I have the benefit of the Spirit Sources… These disciples won't have such benefits, they'll truly need to work together.

"Good, bring in the next group. Let us continue with the selections." I said.

And so more prospective disciples came rushing in. They seemed to be a bit younger than the last group. So perhaps they will continue to get younger as this selection goes on. Here's hoping it goes well.

After the final group of interested people, only a few thousand of the few million people turned away. Once they realized they weren't capable of handling such a dangerous position, nor the responsibility that came with it, it didn't take them long to realize they were better off elsewhere. Nothing against them, it's just best if no one wastes their time. This is war, and thus wasted time is wasted lives. Something that will be drilled into these people such they'll never forget it, nor will they ever forget a face. Let the training begin… Or so I'd like to say.

"Hmm, it seems I won't be able to start their training myself just yet. Some issues need resolving. Isn't that right, assistant head manager?" I said, glancing to the side, where an exhausted woman stood, barely holding herself together.

"Oh, yes Sir Temporal, a few guests showed up and are requesting a meeting with the master, but…" The assistant head manager explained. She clearly had a difficult time getting the guest to relax a bit.

"Very well, I will see them." I said, with a nod then touched my chin to think of something. "Oh, I can just make copies of those scrolls… Here, since you're an open heaven realm, the others down there should listen to you a bit better. Until I return I want you disciples from the temple to teach these materials to everyone down there. I'll keep an eye on everything from afar in the event something goes awry. But Open Heavens shouldn't have a problem using their strength provided it is to learn these techniques." I said, handing a stack of scrolls over to the singular open heaven disciple from the Void World.

"As you wish, Master." The Disciple bowed respectfully.

"Alright, let's go and see our guests… They better have a good reason for coming to interrupt me just as I was going to start training others." I said with a light hearted chuckle.

"One is a guest Elder, I believe he originally came from Ying-Yang Paradise. Palace Master Yang, your father was able to convince him to take the position because of a child he took as his closed door disciple." The Assistant Head Manager continued the explanation.

"Oh, him and his disciple are here. I wonder why they came? It's hard to get a read from this far. And I don't make it a habit to overstep other's boundaries. That said, if this work is too much for you, I can get someone else to help you." I said, with a curious look.

"Oh, no, I'm fine. I am working with Void Land's Manager as well. And our other forces are helping out too, it's just… I've found a deeper respect for Mistress Hua. Doing this work load all the time and still managing to break through on top of that… She's truly a fantastic woman. She even got married during her work… I wonder if I'd ever get so lucky…" The Assistant Head Manager said, dwindling into musings. "Oh! My apologies Young Master, I didn't mean to burden you…" She quickly added.

"Ahaha, no matter. We all have our own desires. And I can tell you're a bit tired. Make sure to try and get some rest soon. With exhaustion come mistakes." I said. "Besides, the guest you haven't mentioned is definitely more difficult to deal with. I've already called for my wives from the phoenix clan and dragon clan to meet me there. I'm sure they'll be able to help with that person a bit." I continued, shocking the manager.

"Young Master, you already know? Well, as long as you're prepared. But the third guest is even more…" The Manager said wide eyed.

"Oh, don't worry. If they get upset that they aren't seeing my father… I can promise they will regret not understanding. Remember, as it currently stands I'm likely the strongest living cultivator, save for a couple of exceptions. They would have to be stupid to try anything for long." I said, reassuringly as the two of us reached the meeting hall.
