Chapter 30 - Shameless man

Rex, with a profound sense of remorse reflected in his eyes, gradually loosened his tight grip on Mei Xing, setting her free from his thight hold. Mei Xing, caught in a whirlwind of emotions, carefully observed the sudden transformation in Rex's behavior, her mind racing to comprehend the gravity of what had just occurred. The marks on her delicate wrist served as a cruel reminder of the force he had exerted, leaving her deeply shocked and wounded, both physically and emotionally.

Overwhelmed with regret, Rex pleaded earnestly for Mei Xing's forgiveness, his face betraying a turbulent mix of emotions. The bruised imprints on Mei Xing's ethereal skin stood as palpable evidence of the pain he had inflicted upon her. The atmosphere grew heavy with the scent of blood and impending danger, yet Mei Xing remained resolute and silent, reluctant to grant absolution too swiftly.

Driven by an unwavering desire to make him comprehend the depth of suffering he had caused her, Mei Xing summoned her strength and delivered a resounding slap across Rex's face, deliberately inflicting a reciprocal pain upon him, a symbolic act of shared anguish.

"Rex, you foolish fool! Shame should overshadow your every thought!" Mei Xing's voice dripped with a potent blend of scorn and deep-seated resentment. Rex, his cheek stinging from the force of her blow, could only respond softly, his eyes dimmed with a profound sense of self-loathing as he cast his gaze downward.

"Yes, Xing Xing, I am an more like an imbecile," he confessed, his voice tinged with frustration, his plea imploring her to believe in the sincerity of his love, even if just for a fleeting moment.

Just as Mei Xing contemplated uttering further heart-rending words to bring Rex to tears, a raspy voice abruptly shattered their strained interaction. "Xing'er!" Mei Xing froze, her body stiffening as she turned to face the origin of the call. It was Yan Feng, her husband, with Yan Xun by his side. Gasping in shock, Mei Xing found herself utterly exposed, caught red-handed with Mr. Red Flag.

Her heart pounded in fear, anticipating the tyranny in her husband's eyes. In her panic, she took a step back, stumbling and nearly losing her balance, but Rex swiftly caught her arm, pulling her closer to him, a protective instinct surging through him.

The Yan brothers rushed towards Mei Xing, their presence sudden and overwhelming. Yan Bei's unexpected appearance sent shockwaves through her, and she recoiled as he delivered a powerful punch directly to Rex's face, causing him to crumple to the ground, losing consciousness. "Wifey, are you alright?" Yan Xun asked, genuine concern etched across his face as he carefully examined her for any signs of injury.

His anger ignited as his gaze fell upon the deep bruises encircling her delicate wrist. "How dare he harm our beloved wife," he growled, seething with anger, his words directed at his brothers before redirecting his attention towards Mei Xing. His eyes locked onto the deep imprints of injury on her wrist.

"Does anyone have a nail cutter?" Yan Bei asked, his voice laced with seriousness. The once introverted youth had transformed into a formidable figure, his protective instincts triggered by the sight of his wife's bruised wrist. "Here, take it, little bro," Yan Xun said gravely, as he handed over the nail cutter to his younger brother.

"What do you have to say for yourself, for causing such harm upon your own flesh and blood?" Yan Feng inquired, his eyes piercing into her with an intensity that threatened to strip her heart from her body. Mei Xing's stomach churned with nerves as she swallowed a hard lump in her throat, desperately struggling to find words that would satisfy the gravity of the situation. However, all her attempts to articulate a response proved futile, leaving her rendered speechless and confined to a realm of unspoken anguish.

"Who is he, wifey and why is he here?" Yan Xun's voice resonated with an air of controlled composure, his eyes brimming with a calm yet unwavering temperament. Even though his beloved wife found herself in a precarious situation, Yan Xun was prepared to lend a patient ear, eager to hear her explanation.

Yan Feng, driven by a mixture of curiosity and intensity, drew his face closer to hers, a silent demand for answers. The weight of their scrutinizing gazes pressed upon her, their inquiries resonating in the air, leaving Mei Xing feeling vulnerable and unsteady.

The noticeable shift in their expressions compelled her to speak out promptly, her voice carrying a tremor of urgency. "He is Rex!" Mei Xing revealed, her words hanging in the air, evoking a thunderous storm of fury within Yan Feng. Yan Xun, on the other hand, found himself enveloped in a cloud of confusion, turning to his brother for a clarifying glance, his eyes betraying his astonishment at his wife's revelation. Rex! Who was this enigmatic figure? A cacophony of thoughts swirled through Yan Xun's mind, urging him to tap his brother's arm, silently seeking an explanation.

"Rex! Do you have any prior knowledge of him, Yan Feng?" Yan Xun inquired, gently tapping his brother's arm to invite his response. "He's the man I mentioned before, the one who has been causing disturbances in our wife's life," Yan Feng responded, his fist clenching tightly, his rage fueling a tempest within. Meanwhile, Yan Bei, who had been cutting Rex's nails, released a roar that reverberated through the room. "What in bloody hell! He dares to snatch Xing'er away from us?" Yan Bei exclaimed, a distinct mix of irritation and concern emanating from him.

Mei Xing, standing alone amidst the turmoil that unfolded, felt like a lifeless log, dried and devoid of any purpose. She had nothing further to contribute at this moment, transcending into a realm of speechless solitude, contemplating the weight of the situation.

"What the hell does he want from our wife?" Yan Bei's forehead furrowed in a deep frown, his confusion mirroring his inability to comprehend Rex's motives. If Rex sought a rendezvous, marriage, or love, it was evident that he had approached the wrong woman, and the only recourse was for him to swiftly depart from their wife's life, an unwelcome intruder who needed to be cast aside and discarded.
