The iron-like flavor of the Ferret's blood that flooded my mouth felt disgusting, but I am glad that I was able to escape my fate.

I've been too careless on my part, becoming overconfident sure has its shortcomings but why am I even overconfident?

I am a rabbit for God's sake, a prey near the bottom of the food pyramid.

Oh well, there goes my first combat, and it is with a ferret.

I am quite glad that leveling up recovered my health. Come to think of it, I think my body feels stronger now.

I saw the body of the ferret beneath my feet bathed in blood, his lifeless eyes within the caved in his caved-in face staring into the distance. His warmth is still present, although in a few hours, he will turn cold, and his body stiffen.

I felt dizzy and nauseous to the point that I want to throw up, but my body doesn't allow it, I am not physically capable of vomiting. Although what I killed is not a human, I felt pity for him.

Maybe this is because I still have the sentiments and morals of a human, this is the first time that I ever killed, I haven't even experienced killing a chicken.

As a thank you, for giving me this experience, I will bury you in the soil, may you rest in peace and return to nature's embrace.

It seems in this world; the dead do not turn merely into codes or magically disappear in the air and drop items. For the first time since reincarnating, I've truly felt that I am alive, that this world is real, and that this is my new reality.

After burying the ferret, I have traveled toward the puddle near my home to clean myself up. While traveling I noticed that I am now faster and my stamina much higher than before, well naturally because I leveled up 3 times today, I guess I need to adjust to my current capabilities.

After I finished cleaning myself up, I ate some grass before going back to my burrow. Although my body recovered, it did not heal my mental exhaustion, I am quite tired from exerting myself earlier.

I quickly found my usual spot and slept peacefully.

When I woke up it is already sunrise, I guess the mental fatigue really got to me yesterday. I did my usual routine, hop towards the puddle, clean my fur, eat some grass, then chill in my favorite spot.

I remembered that I received many systems notifications yesterday, but I just ignored them because I was really tired to think of anything at all during that time.

Let's see, so I leveled up 3 times after the fight with the ferret then learned a new skill called bite. Then my [Skill] Bounce leveled up to 4 and my [Skill] Kick to 2. It's quite a fruitful encounter and again, thank you ferret.

It seems that my max level is only 10, but here comes the pleasant surprise.

Then… wait, wait, wait, is this what I think it is?! The fabled evolution! I wonder what my options will be, okay let's see.

'Evolution Options'

[Alpha Rabbit]

[Horned Rabbit]

[Red-eyed Lop]

Huh? Only three?! I thought there would be more, but well, this is fine for now. I think I have an idea of what the Horned Rabbit is, you know the staple in JRPGs the one you see in the newbie areas. But for the other two, no clue at all.

[Greater Rabbit]

[A rabbit as big as a medium-sized dog. Commonly seen leading a pack of rabbits. The Greater Rabbit is usually the one seen defending the pack from their enemies. Intimidating them with their large frame.]

[Horned Rabbit]

[A rabbit with a horn. An aggressive rabbit that uses its horn to tackle its enemies. Usually challenges other animals to a duel to hone their fighting skills. Often described as battle hungry.]

[Red-eyed Lop]

[A rabbit that is smaller than regular rabbits but is more agile and intelligent. Easily recognized by their small frame, white fur, lop ears, and red eyes. Commonly seen outwitting their foes in the wild with their abilities.]

Huh, so these are their traits. Based on my understanding, I think the Greater rabbit is more like a rabbit that put all his stat points into strength, in gaming terms I think I can call that Race a tank.

For the Horned Rabbit, I think it is more of the offensive type, well with the horns I think I can deal more damage rather than just kicking with my hind legs.

For the Red-eyed Lop, I am still not sure, I am quite sure that there is magic in this world considering that I have skills and can evolve. Also, the ferret seems to have used some sort of skill to be faster than normal.

So, maybe the Red-eyed Lop Race will be the magic route, it does seem like it with the description describing it as more intelligent, and from the games, intelligence is closely related to the magic route, and I think in this world it is not an exception. But also, you can't remove the chances that the Red-eyed Lop is just a common house pet.

So now I have these choices, it is really hard to pick because I am not just picking an evolution for my character in a game but my real body, and now this is my reality, and it will determine my future.

I've decided, since this is my second life, I just want to spend my life enjoying it, and right now I am open to surprises, but I hope that it will be a pleasant one.

Since I am quite vulnerable here outside, I hopped back to my burrow.

'I choose the Horned Rabbit.'

My vision darkened and I fell asleep, it seems that it is the right choice to go back to my burrow or else I might wake up on someone's stomach or in heaven.

When I woke up, I felt that all the tension in my body was released. Let's see if I was scammed by this evolution route or not. When I was hopping toward the puddle, I felt like there was something on my head, it felt quite heavy but still also felt that it belonged there, aside from that, I felt like I was faster than before.

When I looked at my reflection in the puddle, I saw a white cashmere lop with a horn. The horn looks somewhat blunt but might be able to pierce through my target if given enough momentum.

I had my breakfast and then go to my usual spot near the entrance to my burrow. I checked if I got new skills and I saw a welcome surprise.

All my skills leveled up by 1 and I got 2 new skills, [Skill] Headbutt and [Passive] Comprehension. I am quite curious about what [Skill] Headbutt does, is it just a normal headbutt, or what?

[[Skill] Headbutt]

[Hardens the user's skull and headbutts the target]

A simple, but easy-to-understand explanation. So, does this mean that I can potentially disrupt their skills?

If I were to have this skill when I was fighting with the ferret, I think I can use this when he was about to attack me then I would use [Skill] Headbutt alongside my bounce and kick, giving my attacks more powerful with the momentum I get from [Skill] Bounce, but that is just a what-if scenario, but I think I can use it next time I fight someone.

I still have to test this out in a real fight to know if it is really effective.

For the [Passive] Comprehension, it seems that it will be able to help me comprehend things easier, maybe I can use this to my advantage while practicing my skills to level them up faster.

Also, I think this can help my [Skill] Appraisal, well comprehension, and analysis go hand in hand, so it is quite possible.

On the east side of my burrow is the way towards the deeper part of the forest, I usually see some small animals like ferrets and groundhogs there. I think I will try testing my new skills on them.

On the north side is the river and beyond that, I can see many trees and a silhouette of a huge mountain. The west side also has more trees, so I think it also leads to a deeper part of the forest, and to the south it is also a forest! Because well I haven't explored the area yet aside from the east side where I ran from the ferret.

Rustle

While I was contemplating what to do, my ears twitched and I heard the bushes from the west rustle. I think someone is there, so I hid in the bush beside my burrow and observed what made that noise.

After a few moments, I saw a small and ugly green child with what I assumed to be a sharpened tree branch in his hand. He gestured towards his back and there appeared 4 more ugly green children!

When the four appeared, I saw one of them also carrying a sharpened tree branch like their leader, and another one was holding what seems to be a poorly made bow, and strapped on the goblin's back is a poorly made quiver with a few arrows.

Following behind the duo are two goblins holding a leash and shortly after I saw two pigs carrying a bunch of sticks and rocks on their back by binding them with a cloth.

Growl

The goblin leader growled and the four came to where the goblin leader is standing, which is beside the river. The goblin leader gestured then the two goblins holding the leash of the pigs quickly tied the leash on with a slender trunk near them.

They quickly unpacked their things and the goblin leader gestured towards the two Greater Goblins then the two seems two have been tasked to survey the area.

Don't tell me, are they planning to build a camp here?! Of all the places why here?!

Although I was excited to see them because I saw a creature that I only read from fiction, all the excitement that I felt vanished if I can't even drink from my puddle!

How can my squirrel friends even survive with them there? I can already imagine Papa Squirrel leading his family to drink water when suddenly they were captured by the goblins and become their dinner.

Poor papa squirrel. I also don't think I can fight them in my state, I mean look at me. Although I am the emperor of these lands, I cannot protect the livelihood of my dear citizen from these invaders. I am a failure as their supreme leader.

Looks like I need to relocate, and maybe I should try to convince papa squirrel to also relocate but I don't know if my message will even be conveyed, I mean we are two entirely different animals.

Although I evolved, I don't think I am strong enough to fight against the ugly green children.

Until night came, I continued to observe the goblins. I saw them building a fence for the pigs and even planting a banner, I am quite surprised they can even draw.

It looks like they really plan to build a camp here. Although I only eat grass, with them here I can't drink some water for fear that they make me into a grilled rabbit.

Rustle

My ears twitched and I heard someone coming inside the bush that I am in, I saw papa squirrel and his family come in. It looks like they are also cautious because of the goblins. I thumped my feet to warn them, and papa squirrel squeaked. I don't know if they got the message but, well good luck to them.

When dawn comes, I will go, and find a place to dig a new home, I have no choice, I guess. I got back to my burrow and found my usual spot.

I guess this might be the last time that I will ever sleep here. I heaved a sigh and slept through the night.

When dawn came, I woke up, ready to leave my burrow, but although it only has been a short time, still, this is the home to which I was reincarnated.

I hopped toward the entrance of my burrow; a gentle breeze welcomed me just like when I first came out here. The image of the sun rising with the verdant background of the forest greeted me with its golden light.

I am still quite reluctant to leave this home of mine but alas, I cannot stay for long.

I hopped toward the bush and observed the goblins for one last time. I saw them sleeping soundly by the river, and the two pigs mating in their fence. Looks like they will be able to eat well in the future.

Although some might think that I am a coward for running away from goblins let me remind you that my only experience in combat is against the ferret. Five goblins armed with sticks are not within my current ability.

I think this is also good for me, I will come back when I get stronger. I will strive to raise my combat experience so I can evolve.

Just wait you ugly midgets I will come back for you and take back my home!

After bracing myself, I hopped toward the east in search of a new home.
