It could be possible that he did use his first name like she did but it would still take too long to find out who he was from just that.
There were always alterations to names that some people used and a wide variety of ways that the names were spelled so it would make it far more difficult to know who he was outside of the fighting events.
For all Ash knew, his real name could have been Jay or something completely different so simply searching for someone with the name Jason would be a massive waste of time.
It also did not help that not everyone would have an online profile.
