Ash was taking things slow so that she could gradually increase her power and gain experiences while avoiding the larger dangers that were out in the city around her but that was not the case for every other Balancer.
Others had no choice but to take on tasks they were given by their organization or whoever was hiring them to do it.
They would get thrown into all kinds of dangerous situations so they needed to adapt to their environment quickly.
If they did not learn how to adapt then they would be unable to survive in some places that were much closer to or within the Capital.
Even a Watcher was required to face some dangers now and again while they were doing their duties.
Sloane and Sofia were both able to avoid any of the main responsibilities as Balancers and Watchers since they were new but they needed to build up their achievements.
