If Ash wanted to proceed with what she planned then she needed to get noticed sooner rather than later.
Since she was younger than some of the fighters, she could use that as something that could show off her future potential.
If her potential caught the eye of someone important then there was a chance of her being taken deeper down into what was behind the underground fights.
They were being organized as a front for something else entirely and they were just a small visible layer for something much bigger.
Just like how there existed ranks for the fighters that were participating, there were ranks even greater for them.
Those ranks existed for people who would outgrow the current fights and could go much deeper into higher-paying areas.
Those higher-paying areas were full of more secrecy and risks involved so there needed to be someone to scout talents for it and introduce others to it.
