Robert Scott showed the two-story property to Zhang Wei and Munki. Zhang was impressed with the property even though it was being sold at a lower price than the actual market value. He wondered if something had happened that had made the owner eager to sell.
"Mr. Scott, I actually like your property, but the price seems less than the market value. Is there a reason for this?" Zhang Wei asked.
Robert Scott remained expressionless and continued to smile. "Yes, the price is less than the market value, which is 120k dollars. But you see, my wife and I are shifting abroad and we want to sell everything we have here as soon as possible. That's why we decided to keep the price lower to attract buyers," he explained while scratching his head.
"I see," Zhang Wei said. He then turned to Munki and whispered something in his ear. Both nodded, and Munki spoke.
"Mr. Scott, my boss likes your property. He will inform you once we have gathered the amount," Munki said.
"Okay, but please be quick! I am leaving abroad next week, and there is already a buyer ready to buy. If you reject my offer, I will proceed with the paperwork with him," Robert Scott warned.
"Okay, don't worry, Mr. Scott," Zhang Wei assured him. They left the building and walked towards the parking lot.
"Did you like the property, young master? I liked it, and the price was discounted. However, I feel there is something unnatural about the owner," Munki expressed as he entered the car.
"No, I will not be buying it. The owner looks shady, even if he is in a hurry to sell his property. He could have used any agency even while sitting abroad, but he needs to be present for everything. It doesn't make sense. Let's avoid it," Zhang Wei said, sitting in the car.
"Let's search for more areas," he said, and Munki nodded. He drove the car towards a more distant property area.
They looked at more than five buildings. Some were nice, but they were overpriced, and some were cheap but needed maintenance, which would cost the same as buying the overpriced building or floor.
"There isn't anything worth it here. Let's go and see the rental one," Zhang Wei said as Munki turned the car towards the main street and drove the car.
"All the buyout properties are trash or have some problem. The main street is the best place if I want to open my shop. I hope the rental one will be nice and affordable," Zhang Wei thought.
Further down the boulevard, there was a crowd gathered outside a shop. Inside the shop, an old woman was crying as she tried to plead with two large men who were trashing her shop's furniture.
"What's with that crowd?" Zhang Wei asked, trying to look from his car.
"Must be loan sharks trying to take furniture or hiring goons so they could collect money from shop vendors,"
Zhang Wei tried to ignore it, but then his eyes fell on the crying grandmother. She reminded him of a similar grandmother who had given him food even when he had no money in his previous life. In front of the grandmother was a girl, probably around 16 years old, trying to defend her grandmother by standing in front of the goons.
"Munki, stop the car," Zhang Wei said.
