Zhang Wei looked at Xie Ai with appreciation. He smiled at her and said, "No need to thank me, Miss Ai. I was trying to help you."
"Even so, please let me thank you," Xie Ai said, not forgetting what he had done for her and her family. They had been freed from that thug banker.
"If you are so thankful, then let's meet Xie Ruo. Do you know her?" Zhang Wei asked.
When he entered the shop, Munki informed him that it was on a rental notice and that the property was owned by someone named Xie Ruo.
"Xie Ruo? That's my grandmother's name, but a rental notice? I don't remember us posting an ad for renting our shop," Xie Ai said, trying to think of what had happened.
"Xie Ai, I posted the ad," her grandmother Xie Ruo said, making Xie Ai shocked.
"Why, Grandma? Why did you do that?" she asked. Renting out the property meant they would be closing the shop, and that was the last thing she wanted.
"Xiao Ai, the manager was pestering us every day. Our shop was also not doing well, so I decided to close the shop and rent it out so we could get some money," Grandma Ruo said with a bitter smile.
"Why, Grandma? You could have told me. I would have given you money," Xie Ai said with a worried tone.
"You know your money. I didn't want my granddaughter's hard-earned scholarship money to go into someone's evil stomach, so I hid it from you," she said.
"So are you going to close the shop and rent it out even after Manager Sha left?" Xie Ai asked.
"Yes, daughter! The manager has gone, and that's because of this young man," Grandma Ruo said, pointing at Zhang Wei. "But he came because of the rental ad, so we have to thank him. We have to give him the shop if he asks for it," she said, revealing her intentions regarding the shop and her thoughts on Zhang Wei's help.
When Xie Ai heard her grandmother's thoughts, she couldn't help but agree with her words, but at the same time, she couldn't bear the thought of the shops opened by her father going out of business and shutting down forever.
"Mr. Zhang Wei, I know what I'm about to say might sound selfish. But you have the full right not to hear me. Even so, I hope you will consider renting this place out. I really want to run this place for my late father," Xie Ai said with determination. Her eyes showed respect for Zhang Wei's decision, but at the same time, a fire for her work burned inside her.
Seeing her like this, something fired inside Zhang Wei's brain. He figured out a way to help his business and save his time and effort in half.
"Miss Ai, I understand your situation, so I have an offer for you," Zhang Wei said with a smile.
Xie Ai also brightened up upon hearing Zhang Wei's words. From her eyes, he looked like someone well-educated and humble, so she thought he would leave her shop. But the words Zhang Wei said next shocked her to the core.
"Miss Ai, I don't want to rent your place out. Instead, let me buy it!" Zhang Wei said with a creepy smile, thinking about the future when he would have wealth and money.
