While most of those watching from Nexus Entertainment were content with waiting as long as it takes, with a few exceptions of course, those watching from the Multiversal Battlefield grew progressively impatient.
Demon in particular was continuously tempted to dive into the lake and force Adrian awake, to learn something, anything about that oddly familiar demonic presence from before.
However, he was forced to stay here by the suppression of Seal and the laws that Nexus enforces on their existence.
Leaving him to stew in his thoughts and question, 'How are my techniques and bloodline connected to this newborn?! Not even the ancestors had any connection!'
As Demon struggled with his worldview crumbling, oddly enough Eve spoke up, "I know this is going to sound stupid… But, I've confirmed it over the past few days. One of those 'strings' has an energy way too similar to Mora's!"
Once the final word left Eve's mouth, Unity frantically appeared nearby shouting, "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! I-We- uhh… There is no way he's still alive. Everything, even his soul was erased by that lightning! WE made sure of it! You-"
Glaring at the two, Seal Interrupted commanding, "Quiet! Eve, are you positive it IS Mora. Unity, calm down, you shouldn't have been listening anyway."
Gulping, Eve quivered as she took a breath before explaining, "The energy feels incredibly similar, I didn't say it is 100 percent him. Unity, as the one who watched you the most I think I would know best besides you. Just check, the one that reeks of karma."
Glancing at Seal, Unity dropped to his knees begging, "Please this once, let me confirm… If he is still alive, we need to know even if it costs us everything."
After saying his piece, Unity's harmonious form de-synchronized, separating into multiple others, as he tore his sealing mist fragment from his body presenting it to Seal.
Silence engulfed the area before Seal nodded pointing at the fragment, "Keep that, without it every part of you returns to me…"
In response to Seal's words, Unity reformed as one being sporting a saddened and defiant expression as he grasped the fragment squeezing it in an attempt to shatter his only lifeline,
Noticing Unity's actions, Gramps stepped in whispering something to Seal and stepping away.
Seconds before Unity the fragment shattered, Seal sighed and continued, "You must not enter the lake."
Instantly, Unity released his grip on the fragment as his mind calmed and tears fell from his eyes, "Thank you! I-... Thank you."
Slowly standing, Unity walked towards the lake's edge dropping formalities, activating every perception-based technique in his arsenal.
Focusing all his effort on all six strings to first find the one that 'reeks of karma,' which he soon did only to find it was almost identical to the initial energy from Mora mixed with something else.
Anger filled the normally calm and comedic man as he remembered all the horrors Mora had inflicted during his timeline all in the anime of 'fixing' the impurities and 'healing' those harmed.
All the while, Demon sat in his chair under an umbrella contemplating his question without noticing anything that happened, humming a sacred tune, when instantly everything clicked and he yelled out, "HOW THE HELL IS HE CONNECTED TO THE HEAVENLY DEMON!"
Demon's outburst shocked everyone present as the current situation and atmosphere were instantly broken, causing Unity's flashbacks to abruptly stop.
Noticing the awkward atmosphere and Unity's presence, Demon slinked back into his chair creating a dome of demonic energy around himself in embarrassment.
Coughing, Eve tried to get back on track as she asked, "So… It's his energy, right? I mean it feels too innocent to be him, but it's too similar, and as far as we know he never had descendants."
Trying to ignore Demon's outburst, Unity held his head and replied, "It can't be him… No one has ever survived THAT 'lightning.' I mean it has to be another personality that just so happened to awaken the same power. Yeah that's it! Besides that our timeline never occurred, only a handful of beings even remember it."
Realizing her mistake, Eve nodded her head and apologized, "I- I didn't mean to cause harm. It's just not right…"
Clapping his hands together, Gramps walked over to Demon to change the subject to a lighter note, "Come out. We're done now… What were you shouting about?"
Hearing Gramps change the topic, Unity bowed to Seal teleporting away after putting on such an embarrassing display.
Only after pulsing his demonic energy to check if Unity had left, Demon absorbed his energy once more, dropping the dome, speaking up, "Well umm… You know that demon looking one that took over Adrian's body. Umm. This is going to sound strange, but I swear that was the First Immortal, Heavenly Demon Zero. The founder of true demonic cultivation."
Hearing Demon's words, Eve, Seal, and Gramps looked between each other and furrowed their eyes.
Confused by the series of coincidences, Eve dryly laughed, "Funny, you don't need to make fun of me. There's no feasible way that this incarnation has connections to the demonic ancestor from your timeline, and Mora's path from Unity's, RIGHT?!"
Both Gramps and Seal also looked at Demon with eyes of disgust as they thought he was making fun of Eve like always, but this wasn't the time for that.
Shaking his head, Demon confidently chided, "I know this sounds fake, you don't have to make fun of me. I'm telling the truth! I know that energy signature. It's the same one from my techniques and the symphony I always hum!"
Clicking her tongue, Eve rebutted, "If you're so confident that it's the same energy why only bring it up now! Humm! Because, you think me and Unity are dumb you attention whore!"
Confused and upset by her accusations, Demon disputed, "I swear on the name, Cue Deon, I wasn't even paying attention to your previous conversation! AND, if you must know. I wasn't sure it was the exact same energy. It felt way too naïve and disconnected from the symphony, but it has to be him!"
Tearing up, Demon continued, "No other in the entirety of the demon species has even a fraction of his energy. My grandfather, his first inner disciple, passed on his memories to me! I know that energy!"
Everyone present fell silent when Demon swore on his true name and shed tears in frustration.
It was also at that moment that they remembered an important detail about the demon race, and their progenitor Devil race, they could never lie.
Feeling uncomfortable about the situation, Seal looked over to Gramps for help dealing with the emotional side of being a leader.
Noticing Seal's glance, Gramps clasped his hands, summoning two golems from the ground that stood between Eve and Demon as he spoke up, "Lets calm down. Demon… we found your story hard to accept as we just finished talking about how another being's energy, who was struck by THAT 'lightning,' is present near Adrian."
Feeling untrusted, Demon turned around sitting on his chair quietly ignoring the others.
After realizing Demon was being honest, Eve wanted to apologize, but instead, her pride led her to sit in her chair and ignore everyone as well.
Without having been able to finish his explanation, Gramps shrugged toward Seal as they also went to their chairs sitting in silence.
Hoping that Adrian would wake up soon and explain everything.
