Chereads / Demi System / Chapter 67 - Return to The Island

Chapter 67 - Return to The Island

After Fue and Qi's story, Adrian and Zero were left an odd combination of confused, stunned, and proud.

Hundreds of questions raced in their mind and yet they couldn't even ask a single one.

Noticing their predicament, Qi flew between Adrian and Zero before chirping loud enough to get their attention.

Recoiling in surprise, Adrian blurted out his thoughts, "Imma kill that Long Long bastard! No one touches my daughters without my permission!"

An awkward silence fell as everyone awake stared at him before Fue burst into laughter.

Coughing, Zero patted Adrian's shoulders, reminding him confidently, "You DO know we were dead at that time, right? ALSO, this elder supports Qi in her love, not that your objections mean anything now anyway… she already has children."

However, in Adrian's ears, he could feel that Zero was really saying, "We don't kill him… for now, BUT torture should be fine if he messes up!"

Adrian quickly put together that the girls couldn't hear that other bit, so he pretended to sulk, when suddenly the efficiency system updated, breaking his act.

[Communication Efficiency has increased by 0.01%]

Ignoring Adrian's antics, Qi asked once again, "Soooo… Any questions?"

Without waiting for anyone's response, Fue butted in motion towards the cloud bed with her tails, "No! Great! Moving on!"

Following her tails, their eyes were directed to the small group sitting up watching them act a fool, as they couldn't hear Qi and Fue's telepathy.

Having noticed Smiling brightly, Sakura tilted her head asking, "Whatcha doin?"

Seeing Sakura's bright eyes staring at him, Adrian gulped, stammering, "Y–ya know what! Sakura- I-I think we need to get back to umm… getting off the island!"

After biting his tongue multiple times during his frantic redirection, Adrian became more and more embarrassed until he decided to leave all together.

Without letting anyone else speak he returned to his body, forcing Sakura out along with him.

At the same time at Nexus Entertainment…

Under the gaze of the other 23 viewers in the party, less than an hour after Cursed Writer's and Original System collapsed, the two reawakened.

Upon noticing their movement, and remembering why they fell asleep to begin with they ignored the two and stared intently at the screen, as they quickly sent messages to their avatars all stating the same thing, "Send the collected value!"

The only one who acted to the contrary was the 24th viewer, Lonely White Moon, who instead chose to approach the two confused monstrous beings, laughing, "It's amazing that you can wait days, but the last 30 minutes was too much!"

Hearing her words, the two exchanged glances before coughing and returning to their normal forms. Original System became a ball of light once more, while Cursed Writer became a chibi version of his previous self.

As if nothing happened they both simultaneously scoffed at Lonely White Moo, "Shhhh! The entertainment's starting! Don't copy me!"

Dumbfounded, Lonely White Moon face palmed lamenting, 'Why is no one here any fun?'

Back on the Island Adrian's mind and soul finally rejoined his body…

Before Adrian could even open his eyes, he heard Sakura grunt as she complained, "How popular are you! How do you have hundreds of messages in only a few days?"

On instinct, Adrian recoiled as he felt an intense hatred and sarcasm directed at a certain being through their bond.

While recoiling, Adrian's mind finally processed the system's messages flooding in causing him to fall over as his eyes shot open.

The Nexus Message board might have only displayed the condensed version, but the full version was still imprinted on his mind as Wisdom activated to compensate for lacking computing power within his brain.

Drool dribbled down Adrian's mouth as his, now purplish-gold, Mythos Eyes became narrow and clouded as if he had overdosed, causing his thoughts to stand still until his brain and Wisdom could sort them out.

Much to the viewers' chagrin, this caused Adrian to buffer for multiple minutes before lucidity even began to return to him.

And in response, Sakura shut off the new message feed temporarily causing the viewers to become even more agitated, however, this came with the unexpected benefit of allowing them to collect their values from their avatars.

By the time Adrian finally was able to think again he was bombarded with Sakura's worry and his senses sending decipherable information.

Noticing Sakura's worries, Adrian quickly tried to explain, "I'm fine, nothing's wrong! It was just a lot of information all at once…"

Even though Sakura knew Adrian was fine, just hearing his confirmation comforted her anxiety.

Once she was sure he was fine Sakura asked, "Can I open the message board again? Apparently they have a lot to ask."

Rubbing his eyes, Adrian blinked in disbelief as he quizzed, "You mean they aren't still messaging? Then what's this?"

It was only after Adrian pointed it out that Sakura noticed a six-colored system panel with six strings attached to it.

Though it just kept pinging with the same messages.

[Too Far to Connect]

Shivering for the first time, Sakura gulped as she mumbled, "You think this has anything to do with finding the other personalities?"

Nodding in confusion, Adrian shrugged, "Maybe… But why wasn't it here before? Wait! Hold on."

Having remembered a set of specific messages Adrian scrolled through the message board until he pulled up the notifications he needed.
