Chapter 1 - You're under arrest

"Please do not panic. Please do not panic. Please do not panic." A female voice repeats over and over again. I look at the holo screen on the side of a skyscraper.

"Good afternoon citizens as you may know we are under attack by the savages in Russia. Please remain calm and go to your designated bunkers." The president of the North Americas voice and image take over. He's a tall man with a sharp jawline and the physic of a bodybuilder.

Sirens are wailing in the distance as bombs echo in the distance. The sirens get closer as peacekeepers pull up in their armored cars. They jump out in all black suits with a black visor covering their faces. They all look the same same body shape wide and strong same height everyone knows they use height reducers and extenders though.

"I THOUGHT WE WERE SAFE!" People scream some have their fists raised others start trying to push the peacekeepers. The peacekeepers raise their rifles and shout in unison.

"GO TO YOUR BUNKERS!" People start backing up before someone throws a loose brick on the sidewalk and all hell breaks loose the peacekeepers throw their rifles to the side and pull out electric batons rushing at people trying to get to the bunkers. They start arresting people who were pushing at them and find the person who threw the brick. People are running around screaming some are trying to fight the peacekeepers which doesn't work well.

"KILL THEM!" Someone in the crowd shouts the crowd weeds a peacekeeper away from the main group and swarm him. He holds his own for a little but soon realizes it's helpless to fight with a baton and pulls his pistol out shooting the person closest to him. The man drops to the pavement and a little pool of blood starts to form under his chest. A few other peacekeepers get through the crowd hitting and arresting anyone who touches them or gets in their way.

I turn and run to my bunker before I hear a peacekeeper telling me to stop.

"Listen to the peacekeepers and they'll listen to you." I remember my mom telling me before she was taken away by a gang.

"STOP RIGHT NOW!" A peacekeeper screams I do and put my hands in the air. Rough gloves grab my wrists and put them behind my back before they're clamped together in cuffs. "You're under arrest for suspicion of assault on a peacekeeper." He says as he gives me a little shove and I'm grabbed by 2 peacekeepers under my shoulders.

"Congratulations kid you're lucky 100." A peacekeeper says before throwing me into a truck full of other people in cuffs. He closes the doors and the truck rumbles away a couple minutes later the truck comes to a stop and the doors open as 5 peacekeepers stand behind the truck. one grabs me and drags me out of the truck before handing me over to a couple men in regular officer uniforms.

"What's your name son?" An officer asks he has a bushy mustache and a caring look in his eyes.

"My names Wade." I say.

"What're you here for Wade?"

"Suspicion of assault on a peacekeeper."

"Well I sure hope you didn't you're like 16 you still have a life." He says as we walk into the offices. "So tell me Wade have you ever been at a riot or have been stopped by an officer or peacekeeper?"

"No sir."

"Alrighty you have a criminal record?"

"No sir." I say again.

"Well I wanna hear your side of the story before I get the peacekeepers who arrested you."

I nod and tell him the story.

"Well that is pretty suspicious." He says with a laugh.

"I know it is so I understand why he thinks I did."

A crackle comes up over the radio on the officers chest.

"Officer McClain."

"Yes ma'am." The officer responds.

"The man you have with you is requested to speak to peacekeepers they have one outside your door to escort him." She says.

"I'll send him out." Officer McClain says standing up from his chair and opening the door.

I walk out to the hall a peacekeeper is standing in the hall turning and walking with me before pushing me to the left. A couple more peacekeepers come from an open door and take me through the door hitting me and throwing me onto a chair.

"What were you thinking?" One of them asks bending down to get eye level with me not that I can see their eyes anyways.

"I didn't do anything." I say the peacekeeper straitens out and starts walking around.

"So you didn't swarm and attack a peacekeeper today?" he asks.

"No sir, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"That's what they all say." he says staring me down behind the black visor attached to his helmet. "You see you were arrested because well you were running from the crime."

"So was everyone else." I say.

"Don't be smart unless you want to die." He says. "Attacking a peacekeeper is punishable by death and well you don't deserve to die you're to young so tell me the truth and i'll put in a good word."

"I'm telling you the truth I was in the wrong place at the wrong time nothing I can do about that."

"I understand and I believe you but the judge might not technically I'm your attorney considering you're a minor so you don't get one."

"If you're my "attorney" then you'll be glad to hear there was a camera pointed right at the scene." I say.

"It's a start but the judge you has is known for punishing people even if they're innocent so it'll help soften the blow of your judgement probably won't be death." The peacekeeper says still pacing. "Get those recordings." The peacekeeper says to the other peacekeeper standing in front of the door he nods and walks out of the room.

"So now what?" I say.

"Up to you either you stay here or go to the jail until either release or trial."

"Well going to a jails gonna be more entertaining then sitting here." I say standing up the peacekeeper nods and walks me to a room with a gold label above two ontanium doors. He scans a keycard over a black scanner the doors unlock and open I walk in and walk next to people in cells or sitting at tables reading, playing card games, or watching the news.

"Here's your cell." The peacekeeper says opening the door. I walk in and sit on the concrete bed with a little mattress on it. "Goodluck."
