"Lina."
Edward called out, his voice filled with concern, but Lina didn't want to deal with him at the moment. Guilt washed over her, knowing she hadn't thought of him when the zombies attacked. If he hadn't shown up, she would have assumed he was dead.
Perhaps their relationship had reached its end.
Reluctantly, Lina turned to face Edward, her expression distant and detached. She didn't want to risk attracting the attention of the undead with his persistent calls. The grim reality of their situation demanded caution and silence.
"What is it?" Lina asked, her voice lacking warmth.
She noticed the shock registering on Edward's face as if her cold response had caught him off guard. But she didn't care at the moment.
