"What are you thinking about?" Aerilyn wiped her face with the back of her palm.
Levina shifted uncomfortably. There was no point in hiding it, she decided. "This is not the first time someone attempted to poison Lu... Prince Lucien."
Aerilyn's hand flew to her mouth in surprise. "How did that happen?"
After Levina told her about the first attack, intentionally leaving out the part about the witchcraft, she added, "The first assailant and the second are the same person."
Aerilyn thought for a while. "So Marie was responsible for the first attempt?"
She sighed. "I don't know. Marie couldn't have been in Arvenia then; she was here in camp."
A grim look shadowed her expression. "Marie was in Arvenia. We bumped into each other at the market. She said she was there to see someone or something like that."
Levina felt the moisture dry up in her mouth.
