Soren glanced from Levina to Lucien, a confused look etched on his face. He did not know which was more excruciating, the pain in his back or the fact that neither Levina nor Lucien was eager to elucidate on what was in the cave. But whatever it was, it terrified the shit out of Levina.
"Okay, enough with the uncomfortable silence," he groaned as he rested his back against the rock. "Someone tell me what is going on."
Lucien, ignoring Soren, turned to leave, but Levina grabbed his leg. "Luc... My lord," she quickly corrected, releasing his foot, but continued holding his gaze. "At least wait until morning. There is still one other soldier at the cave, and he is armed, so it's best you wait till morning," she looked away. She knew Ivar couldn't do anything to harm Lucien, not in his current state of blindness. She feared what he would tell Lucien; she had been lucky that Lucien did not believe Barca, but she may not be so lucky with Ivar.
