Zalla laughed. "That was what you said about your first human husband. But he almost killed you and your child, isn't that right?"
Zalla's continued reference to Levina as Lea was beginning to irk her. Maybe having stayed alive for a long time was beginning to take its toll on her memory.
"Humans are all the same, child. They act nice and sweet, but the moment they see that you are different from them, that you are more powerful than them, they will turn on you," Zalla said with a faraway look in her eyes. "Lea, I will make you the same offer I made long ago. Join me, and let us make a world where our children will not live in fear of getting hanged or burnt at the stake. They will live like the superior beings they are, while these puny humans cower in fear of their power!"
