He nodded. "The Sharatan circus. I hear they are quite good," he said. "If I knew that it meant so much to you, I would have taken you to a circus myself," he added with a tinge of regret in his voice.
She shrugged. "Don't beat yourself up about it. I did not even know that I would be this excited about the circus."
"Have you considered that maybe it is not the circus but rather the person taking you to the circus?" he asked, shifting uncomfortably.
Amused by her father's attempt at 'boy talk,' she laughed uncontrollably. "What? No, I don't think so," she replied amidst bouts of laughter as she dabbed the corner of her eyes. "I and Draven are just friends, and we are going to the circus together as just friends."
"Draven, the swordsmith's son?"
She nodded. "He handles the sword-making business now; I think his father has retired or something."
