Today was different from every other day. Levina could smell it in the air, and she could see it in the way people wore bright smiles and decorated the streets with colorful flowers and the Arvenian flag for bunting. The street was bustling with activities.
She heard people wishing each other a 'joyous mwabakr.' And she had noticed that children did not loiter in the streets like they did every other day, and the people wore plain black clothes.
The castle was no different. The air was filled with the divine smell of different flowers, and everyone walked around in black.
The black made her uneasy and uncomfortable, especially because she was the only one in a colorful dress. Not that her pale, cream-colored, knee-length dress could count as colorful. But she disliked being the odd one.
