Levina crossed her hands over her chest, a defiant look in her eyes.
"I thought you wouldn't be back until tomorrow," Zalla chuckled.
"I just needed a little time to myself before we continue our chat," Levina shrugged.
Zalla nodded repeatedly, making the sagging flesh around her face and neck bounce. "So where were we?" she asked.
"The part where you tell me how to save my friend."
"Ahh, yes. You want to save the life of the prince of Arvenia, the very family that killed your mother and countless other witches," she smiled.
Levina stared at her in surprise. Lucien's name had slipped accidentally, but she did not expect the old woman to know that he was the crown prince.
"I think it is best we let him die and pay for the sins of his father and grandsire," the smile was gone from her face.
