Chapter 20 - Chapter 2.13.5: Tick,Tock

My body stopped floating, and I began to fall. I brought back a building and continued to watch from on top of it.

I wasn't worried about the spears hitting me. If they did, I would just rewind time again.

The endless rain of spears mercilessly poured down unto a man that no one could tell if he was dead or alive; and I remembered when this battle started, it hadn't even passed 4 hours by now.

A battle that was started by one man, a necromancer. One of the last of his kind, our kind. He led an army of undead monsters towards a town close to the empire.

The lord of the empire didn't care about whatever happened to the town. Even if the town was destroyed, the empire had more than enough forces to annihilate the monsters; but the mayor of the came pleading to him on Lord on his knees on behalf of his people, bringing both money and treasure, practically begging for his life and the life of his people.

The lord accepted the mayor's gifts and promised to do his uptmost best to protect the town, but he only sent an army of 100 soldiers. Then he came to the family of his most trusted advocate, my family, a family of necromancers, and said, "Make sure you do everything in your power to make sure that town burns down."

...and then that mission was put unto me.

My stopwatch was a gift given to me by my mother. It allowed me to store all my memories even if those memories came from a timeline I had come back from. I used the stopwatch to get back all the memories I had lost during the fight. It wasn't much, but at least I could remember the man's name, Mizvick.

The spears had stopped falling and began to vanish one by one from their resting place. The skies had begun to clear, the shimmering remnants of magic fading away with it, bringing in the unrelenting heat and brightness of the sun. Time was restored to normal.

A giant crater had been made on the earth, and within it was the skull of the Titan King with spears embedded into it, the rest of its body scattered about.

I walked around aimlessly, loading bullets into my revolver while thinking to myself.

The mission was to let Mizvick's army destroy the town, but I failed. I took pity on the soldiers that I had travelled with until now, and I decided to save as many as I could, but even at that; only about 20 of them should have survived.
