Chapter 12 - Chapter 10: Corpse

Reina's head drooped, her long white hair blocked out her face. Purple flames emerged ferociously from the black liquid around her spreading quickly all over the room.

The snarling white dragon became less aggressive; it's head slightly shifting backward as it's eyes scanned the burning room.

The flames covered the entire floor, the pillars left unaffected.

Oh, so it was true, Solomon thought, staring intensely at the book and the robe on the floor; his right hand on his lips and his left against his chest carrying the right arm; his right thumb pressing against his lower lip.

Reina slowly raised her head slowly, turning to Solomon.

A cold breeze blowing, cracking sounds coming from the flames.

Her left eye peeking through the strands of her hair, her iris a luminous purple and her eyeball pitch black; as it widened her pupil turned white. Suddenly, there was an explosion in the room.

A cold mist quickly filled up the room, layers of sharp blackish purple crystals everywhere in sight.

A rumbling sound coming right from the beast, a slight roar from the dragon, it's head turning as its sparks destroyed the crystals coming for it, creating a thicker, more chilling mist and an explosion of purple flames, though the dragon didn't flinch an inch.

Around Solomon, a barrier of purple flames flowing continuously in a circular motion, surrounding him and completely engulfing him from sight.

The chilling mist grew from the flames until everything in the room became barely visible. Reina's purple eyes gleaming brightly like a star hiding behind a cloudy sky.

Solomon put his hands down; standing motionless, ignoring everything happening around him.

The flames surrounded him but they didn't reach him, as if there was a force surrounding him that they couldn't reach.

Reina stretched her hand to Solomon spreading her palm wide. Beneath her voice, she sang a song in a language I couldn't recognize, her whole arm became black, purple flames grew from beneath it forming a pattern.

From the pattern, glitters flowed out like smoke, forming a large magic circle before her palm. A purple aura surrounded her taking the form of people laying over each other black glitters flowing from them, all of them reaching for the circle, rage filling up their eyes.

Now. He got down on one knee and placed his hand on the book.

"That's mine." A voice echoed round the room. All who were in the room heard it clearly.

Reina, recognizing the voice looked up at the beast's mouth. the magic circle before her slowly broke apart into glitters and faded away, the same with the purple aura around her.

The sparks from the dragon came to a halt and the mist slowly began to clear.

She stood silent as what was supposed to be Miya's corpse looked downwards towards Solomon stretching his hand, placing against the tooth of the beast, as he leaned upward, cracking sounds coming from his body.

A shade covering his face, a glimmer of green coming from his eyes. Not once did he look away from Solomon, not once did his expression change.

The flames surrounding popped, evaporating into heaps of steam.

Solomon looked up at him, a smirk growing on his face as he pulled his hand away from the book.

The beast made a nasty growl; a purple light glowing brightly from beneath its fangs, its purple eyes emitting a purple smoke as they shun bright.

Solomon rose up," I know." He took a step forward, and his body became transparent blue, dispersing quickly in the form of glitters. He appeared again beside the beast, placing his hand on its skin. "Put him down."

The beast shook a bit, tightening its teeth and growling loudly, refusing to open its mouth.

"Peach." Solomon said, staring at the ground a wild smile on his face. His eyes, a shining gold.

The beast growled, flinging his head to the side. Miya's body flew swiftly through the air and into one of the golden pillars covered with crystals, shattering them as his body bent roughly to the side because of the collision.

The crystals exploded into a heap of flames, pushing Miya's body down into the larger crystals that rested at the foot of the pillar.

Sounds of explosions filling the room, a pit of purple flames all around the pillar; Miya, nowhere to be seen.

The beast turned its head to Solomon, glaring and growling at him with eyes full of hate, the purple light still escaping through the gaps of its fangs, but Solomon wasn't even looking at it.

He stared at the pillar, the chilling wind blowing his clothes strongly. His hair blocked out his eyes.

The beast opened it mouth wide, an endless flow of purple light that moved like liquid, vibrating strongly, blurry at edges, appealing yet frightening, and housed behind the many fangs of the beast. A light deafening screech coming from its mouth.

Solomon turned his head slowly to the beast. "What's the matter?" He asked with a kind, beautiful smile that made his golden eyes seem more radiant.

They stared at each other for a moment. Suddenly, the beast shut its mouth and growled as it huge body sunk back into the ground, shaking the ground.

Solomon giggled as he looked back into the pit of flames."Yeah, this is going to be fun."

Reina stared at the flames, wide-eyed with her mouth agap.

"Mi-," she called out quietly as her legs gave out, and she fell to the ground.

The flames fumed loudly. A shadow growing out of it, a corpse. It walked on one leg towards them, purple flames forming a wide hole in his stomach and burning half of its face from its jaw.

It was naked and covered in sprays of blood. Its body horrificly to the side, bits of broken ribs piercing out of its skin; one arm roughly torn, the other badly broken.

Blood flowed down from beneath its ruffled hair and from its only eye that was spared of the flames.

This was a corpse. The corpse of a boy; but its will be reflected in its green eye. It refused to die. He refused to die.

For a while, there was only the sound of flames and the faint sound of footsteps.

Everyone watched him; the dragon watched him, Reina watched him and although it wasn't there I could feel it, the beast watched him, and Solomon stood before him, looking down on him as he walked past Solomon, as if Solomon wasn't even there.

Standing before the book, the cloak and the stopwatch he had let fall to the ground, he picked the items off the floor and placed them against his bosom. When the cloak drew closer to his body, the flames extinguished, but the injuries remained.

Miya turned back to look at Solomon, who was starting at him. His pale white hair had suddenly grown black at the centre of his head. His eye a wild luminous green. "Where is he?"
