"Above the waters are the earth, above the earth are the trees, above the trees are the skies and above the skies are the stars."
I turned to my right, and I saw myself; at least, how I remember myself to be.
"Hm? What's above the stars?Hmmm...I guess...god?"
He did everything with a smile and basically radiated happiness.
"Come with me."
He took me to a staircase that spiralled high like a tower. I thought I saw the figure of a monster come from the side, but before I could even turn to look at it, all I could see were millions of tiny shimmers in the shape of butterflies flying away before fading into thin air.
"Huuungh...man."
We were at a large dinner table.
"Huh? What am I doing? Well, to be honest, I have no idea."
"Who knows? I've lost count of how many years have gone by."
"This place is - Where I - but I guess there's no point telling you that, you won't end up remembering this anyway."
"Because he won't let you."
"God."
It was silent for a while. He looked out at the view outside.
"Hey, do you remember them?"
"So you don't, huh?"
For the first time, he wasn't smiling.
"Hm, okay then."
We talked about a lot of things, but I don't remember them.
"We remember to forget."
"Unfortunately, there's not enough time, he -"
"Keep the items with you -"
Who are you?
He paused, then smiled.
"A spirit."
