"So this is the voice of the creature," Miya said getting unto his feet.
"What do you mean?" the voice said.
"Where are you?" Why do you speak only in my head?"
"You don't wish to know who I am?"
"I don't care who you are; where can I find you?" He took the creature's hand gently staring at its face.
It became quiet, aside from the sound of the fuming smoke the place was utterly silent.
"I'm sorry," Miya said, passionately holding the creature's with both of his palms. His eyes looked like how they've always been, sad and empty, but the way he took its hand...it looked like it was out of love. The creature's tears grew, coughs of smoke pouring out as its neck tightened and trembled.
the torches lit out then got restored again almost immediately.
"I'm here." The voice said. This time it didn't feel like it came from his head, but instead from a specific direction. Miya looked ahead, towards the direction of the sound. There was a wooden door up ahead, the door was old and shattered with a round handle that shined in the shades of the torches infront of it.
Holding unto the creature, he pulled it along with him towards the door. Opening the door, they came into a wide circular room.
The room had no torches thus it was dark but there were 8 glassless circular windows that brought light into the room.
The light from the windows revealed endless cracks, crumbled, rocks big and small, that seemed to be all over the room.
At the center, the silhouette of a man seated on large crumbled rocks. his body was bent foward, his head bowed.
He looked up and his purple eyes glimmered emitting a light of it's own in the darkness. Just like the creature. His pupils were white and his right eye blood stained.
"Hello there," he said with a smile. It was the same young voice Miya heard when he first woke up here.
They came into the room, and the door shut by itself behind them. His image became clearer as they approached him. His black hair covered with dust as a slight amount of light rested on it.
He looked beaten up, blood running down from both ends of his mouth and forehead; bruises on his cheek, dirt all over his body. His right arm and left leg both gone with a pool of blood around his leg and blood still flowing out of his arm as he slouched his body forward.
His white sleeved buttoned shirt tattered and covered with dirt, blood and burn marks. His clothes, ripped at his missing limbs. His foot was bare and he wore a black leather glove.
Sitting upright, his beaten face looked so bright as he smiled. Like a warrior, who achieved his dreams, basking in fulfillment even while knowing he had reached the end of his life.
Miya and the man looked at each other eye to eye. He felt his heart beat louder, only for a moment. His eyes widened and he fell silent, unconciously, he asked,"who are you people?"
The man laughed as he coughed out blood, staining his open collar with blood adding to the blood that was already on his shirt.
"I thought you didn't care about who I was?"
"Answer me."
The man giggled."Sorry, I can't tell you." His face had turned pale and there were bags under his eyes. "But I'm sure you'll find out."
His breathing became heavier and he coughed out more blood as he rose his arm torwards his neck, grasping for something that looked like a gold chain. The smoke from the creatures mouth increased and so did its tears.
"For in every generation I'm the same..." pulling of the chain from his nack, leaning foward as more blood flowed out from his leg and arm. He stretched his clasped hand to Miya as a portion of the chain stuck out.
The smoke from the creature spread calmly all over the room, covering the man's face."...and my name is immortal."
Miya stretched forth his hand to collect the chain from him."Afterall...I am 'Father Time'."
Miya felt as if time had slowed down, as a part of the smoke that covered him left bottom of the man's face visible, revealing his wide smile as tears ran down his cheek. The second the chain fell into his hand Miya could hear the voice in his head again.
"Goodbye."
Once again, the smoke rushed out and Miya blocked his eyes but this time the smoke didn't last more than a few seconds and the force of the smoke was strong enough to lift his body.
As he uncovered his eyes he felt something light droop over him, covering his left eye. Pulling it off him he noticed it was a black cloak. He rose his head and looked around, both the creature and the man had disappeared all that was left was the lingering smoke and the pool of blood that was left behind.
Miya felt a sharp sting at his chest as he looked down at the cloak. He looked at his other hand. The gold chain that was given to him remained in his hand but attached to it was a ticking pocket watch without a lid and a broken screen.
He stared at it as the last word he heard repeated soundly in his memory. Tears flowed from his onto the watch and the cloak. "What does that even mean?" he asked aloud as his voice echoed, his voice colder than before, a little distant with a tint of curiosity.
He began leaving the room, tears slowly running down his cheeks as he approached the door. His face looked calm but tears wouldn't cease.
As I watched...I too, felt the need for tears.
