I ran my horns through the tiger's body as it struggled to stand, the creature looked unwilling as it breathe it's last.
" That was a tough battle" I said as I cleaned myself with water magic and transformed back into my human form. It was at this moment that Diana opened her eyes.
" Where are we?" she asked
Everyone turned to look at her.
"You should sleep less and eat more. That should facilitate your..." David started, but he was silenced by a glare from Diana.
"I never knew you were such a heavy sleeper," I laughed.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"Look over there," I said, pointing at the corpse of the red-striped tiger. "You slept through the entire battle with that thing.
"If not for David's timely intervention, you'd have had claw marks on your face by now."
I finished my sentence with a wink. Diana's face turned red, and she avoided our gaze.
David simply shook his head and turned away, mumbling something under his breath.
The awkward silence that followed was finally broken by Naraia's cheerful voice.
"Well, now that that's settled, let's get moving! We need to find our way out of this forest."
Diana joined us as we set off into the forest. The trees were tall and dense, and the ground was covered in a thick layer of moss. The air was cool and damp, and the only sound was the rustling of the leaves above us. It was a strange and eerie place, but we pressed on, determined to find our way out.
As we continued our journey, we noticed something odd about the forest. The trees all looked the same, as if they had been planted by someone or something. There was no variety in the plant life - no bushes, no flowers, just row after row of identical trees. The only exception was a strange-looking tree at the very center of the forest. It was taller than all the others, and its branches were covered in glowing red leaves.
Curiosity filled us as we approached the tree. Other than its size and the color of its leaves, there didn't seem to be anything different about it. We continued to observe the tree when we suddenly heard a yawn coming from above us. We looked up to see a miniature person - a girl about 30 centimeters tall - lying naked on one of the leaves. Our eyes locked, and we continued to stare at each other.
One second. Two seconds. Three seconds. Four seconds…
"Ahhhhhh, you pervert!" she screamed.
Before we could react, a fly swatter twice my size appeared out of nowhere and swept us all away. We flew through the air, yelling and flailing our limbs in a desperate attempt to regain our balance. Jenna even transformed into her dragon form, but it was all in vain. We landed hard on the ground, the wind knocked out of us.
When we looked up, we saw the miniature girl hovering above us, looking very displeased. She held the fly swatter like a sword and pointed it at us threateningly.
"You didn't see anything" she said indignantly.
This is what I've got:
We all nodded frantically.
The miniature girl harrumphed.
"Follow me," she said, turning around.
She placed her palm on the tree, which began to glow. When the glow faded, the tree looked different. It looked like someone had used water magic to form a tree and put a world inside it.
"Come in," she said, and then went inside.
On the other side, we appeared in what seemed to be a city. As we walked, the girl's size changed into that of a normal person. Now that I think about it, everyone here was the size of a normal person - except for some walking animals!
"Hey, what are you guys? Are you a fairy? And what's your class?" Naraia asked eagerly.
I couldn't blame her - fairies were said to be the ancestors of elves, but they were rarely seen. They liked to keep to themselves.
"Fairy?
"I've never heard of a fairy, and what's a class?" the girl asked, confused.
"A class is a type of role a person fulfills in this world. There are fighters, mages, warriors, rogues, clerics, and many other classes that fulfill various roles in the world," I explained.
"I still don't understand." The girl looked at me blankly.
"Maybe we should start with the basics. Tell me about yourself. What's your name?" I asked gently.
"I can't tell you my true name, but you can call me A," she said proudly.
Naria and Lily's eyes widened. "Wait, true name, could this be..."
"The Lost World of Familiars?"
