Chapter 9 - Episode 9

Back in her new room, Salish was leaning in the on her bed lost in her deep thoughts. "Should I go or not? I'm the princess but I also do not know anything about the condition of laws and society here..." Asked she to herself.

She got up and went towards the balcony. The view was heart filling and the scent in the air felt more comfortable to breathe in than of her planet Earth. There were no clocks or time watches on this planet, the way one could tell the time was to simply look at the color of the sky.

The sun was about to set and hide behind the mountains and the citizen of Lavatron, were busy preparing fire lamps to light up the place. "This place is surely strange yet homely in some way." She thought. Taking in a long breathe, she wondered why no one had come to visit her.

Later, "Come In." She said after hearing two knocks on the door. She did not bother to turn around to check who had visited her this evening. It was mostly likely to be her father or her maid, Sally who accompany her during this time to talk about stuff to get to know each other better and more.

Salish definitely heard a greater number of footsteps than she expected to be. Having some muffled unknown manly voices going across her ears, a slight frown came crawling on her forehead. "Greetings, princess." Said a rough manly voice.

It clicked her. The voice was something familiar and she believed that she had talked to this person before. Being in a startled state, she turned around and saw The General of Battlefields standing upright Infront of her with his chest puffed out with pride and power, like always.

Surprised, she walked a little towards him and asked," What brings here today, General.", "His Majesty has ordered me to take you to show you around the preparations of the journey so you can be familiar with the environment." Replied he. "Let us go then." She spoke. "Follow me." spoke him.

His tone of talking did not empress the lady at all. It was clear that he was someone full of ego and pride. He was someone who had never belittled himself Infront of anyone else and loved to show dominance.

The princess followed him with a slight frown visible on her forehead. "I would certainly throw him in a pond if I had the power to. What does he even think he is? The owner of the world? Oh, hell nah, not on my watch." started the train of rebellious thoughts in her mind.

They walked through the walls of the castle and reached the garden where sally along with two unknown faces was already waiting for them to arrive.

"Your Highness, these two are going to tour you around the castle." Said sally and left.

"Good morning, Princess! Welcome to the palace. My name is John, and I will be one of your guides today." Started the first worker.

"Good morning, John. It's lovely to meet you. And who is your colleague here?" Said the princess.

"Good morning, Princess. My name is Maria, and I'm also here to show you around the palace." Said the lady in her 50s who was accompanying the guy.

"Nice to meet you too, Maria. I'm excited to see everything here." Said Salish unhesitatingly.

"Great! Then let's get started. We have a lot to show you today." Said John.

"Yes, we do. So, Princess, what would you like to see first? The gardens, the throne room, or the library?" Maria completed the sentence.

"Hmm, I think I'd like to see the throne room first. It sounds grand and impressive." Said Salish.

"Excellent choice. Follow us this way, please." Exclaimed John.

They walk through the palace, admiring the beautiful decorations and architecture completely forgetting the fact that the General was with them all along. They talked about various things with both the different species sharing their happy experiences and history of their respective planets.

"Here we are, Princess. This is the throne room, where the king and queen hold court and receive guests." Informed Maria.

"Wow, it's even more magnificent than I imagined. The gold accents and intricate carvings are simply stunning." Said Salish while observing the surroundings very closely.

"Yes, the throne room is one of the most beautiful and important rooms in the palace. It's where many important decisions are made, and where the king and queen meet with other rulers and dignitaries." Added John.

"I can definitely see why. It's very impressive. What's the history behind the throne room?" Asked Salish.

"Well, it was built over 200 years ago, during the reign of King Edward III. It has been renovated and restored several times over the centuries, but it still maintains its original grandeur." Said Maria.

"That's fascinating. I would love to learn more about the palace's history." Said Salish showing her desire to know the history of the planet even more and better.

"We can definitely show you around and tell you more about the palace's rich history and architecture." Said John.

"Yes, we have a lot to share. What would you like to see next, Princess?" Asked Maria.

"I think I'd like to see the gardens now. I've heard they're lovely. Especially in our planet, there are structures built all around for kids to play with and benches for everyone to sit on and the views of the sunsets are the best." Said Salish.

"Great choice. Follow us, and we'll take you to the gardens." Said John.

They walk through the palace gardens, admiring the various flowers, fountains, and sculptures. The garden was full of various types of colorful flowers.

"These gardens are some of the most beautiful in the kingdom. They were designed by a famous landscape architect over 100 years ago." Said Maria.

"They're absolutely stunning. I love the way the flowers and trees are arranged, and the fountains are so elegant." Again, implemented Salish.

"Yes, the gardens are truly a work of art. They're also a great place for the royal family to relax and enjoy the outdoors." Said John.

"I can see why. It's so peaceful and serene here." Said Salish with excitement to know the place even better.

"Well, Princess, we hope you're enjoying your tour of the palace so far. What would you like to see next?" Inquired Maria.

"Hmm, let's see. I think I'd like to visit the library. I've always been a fan of books." Said Salish.

"Excellent choice. Follow us, and we'll take you to the library." Said John and ran with speed leaving the two girls to giggle around.

They walked through the palace and arrived at the library, filled with books and ancient manuscripts. This time they took a different route.

"This is one of the most extensive libraries in the kingdom. It has books and manuscripts dating back centuries." Stated Maria.

"Wow, this is amazing. I love the smell of old books, and the leather-bound covers are so beautiful." Replied Salish.

"Yes, the library is a treasure trove of knowledge and history. It's also where the royal family keeps important documents and records." Said John.

"I can imagine. That's all for today. You both can take your leave." Said Salish and the workers bowed and went away.

"So, what have you decided? Will you go along with the King to other kingdom or do you wish to stay in the palace?" Asked the general.

"I would like to go with father." Said she.

"Are you sure? I'm afraid you will not be able to stand the smell of the blood there as there was recently a war which took place there." Inquired the General not wanting to babysit her again.

"I'm sure." Said she with confidence before grabbing a very big book which contained the laws and orders of the kingdom.
