Diana ended up being summoned to the alpha's office—alone. This was all thanks to Sally pointing out how she tried to kill her. Now, Diana reduced her grand plans to Sally. She only had the strong urge to use her once and discard her later on. Of course, Diana did not let her inner turmoil affect her nonchalant stance in front of the ruthless alpha.
With only the two of them inside his office, there was no need to pretend.
Though she was still weary of him, his previous actions and words rang inside her mind like a go signal. With this, she dared test the waters by sitting before she was told to do so.
"What is the reason why you came?" asked Diana. Though she could only look him in the eyes for at best a minute or two due to rank difference, Diana was still able to see how heated he looked at her—as if she really did something that offended him. "I am the one who got hurt alright. And the comfort room has no damage whatsoever just so you know."
Diana's voice eventually grew smaller as she spoke upon failing to earn any sort of reaction from the furious alpha before her. Peeking at him for a split second, Diana fought the urge of her omega nature to show her neck and show submission.
Silence ensued inside the office.
Fidgeting her fingers, Diana wandered her gaze around the office with a minimalist style. It was so manly. There were no photo frames of his family and friends, just a room for his duty as the alpha.
A good ten minutes passed by yet he remained staring at her.
It would be a downright lie if Diana would say that she was not affected at all. "Should I go, Alpha? You seem to have a locked jaw problem right now and I don't want us to, you know, waste both of our time when we could be both productive."
As she stood up, a low growl shook the stale air within the office. The temperature immediately dropped as shivers ran down her spine. On instinct, Diana turned to look at him.
"What now?"
"Did I tell you to leave?"
"Hello? You might have forgotten this, but you assigned me as your pack's lowest omega who is in charge of cleaning toilets. If you want them to have a clean comfort room, you need to let me leave or your beloved people would suffer from kidney problems. The toilets in the pack are yet to be opened right now, just so you know." Diana did not really care for his people.
After all, there was hardly a connection between them since she was yet to have the welcoming ceremony that should have connected her with the Blood Claws pack members.
"You are a mystery Diana Ritchell. I waited for you to make a move, but weeks have passed and you are still cleaning toilets as I told you so." Alpha Dylan walked closer to Diana, his stride was slow, like a predator stalking his prey.
On instinct, Diana stepped backward. With each step that Alpha Dylan would take forward, Diana was in sync when stepping backward.
A soft thud resonated when Diana's back hit the corner of a waist-height wooden shelf. 'Shit.'
"Stop right there!"
With jaws clenching, Alpha Dylan continued. "You never even attempted to climb on my bed even after giving you a room right below mine."
"What is wrong with you? Are you high, Alpha?" Diana extended her arm to stop his chest, stopping him from moving forward—for a good minute.
He took her wrist and twirled her body around in one swift motion. The next thing Diana knew, she was now bending on the wooden shelf with both of her wrists pinned behind her.
His hot breath fanned over her nape. And his canines grazed over the place where his mark would have been placed during the mating ceremony.
"Aaah," Diana moaned. As soon as his canines caressed her neck, the she-wolf in her awakened.
The moment a low growl answered her, vibrating against her back, she felt his hard erection in between her thighs.
Warning bells immediately descended for Diana. She was familiar with this scene, only at that time, it was not the blue-eyed alpha but the son of a bitch Axel.
With trembling nerves, Diana kicked his tighs.
"Ugh!" Alpha Dylan stumbled over, giving Diana enough time to move away from him.
Diana's eyes zeroed in on the glass of water from his desk. She did not know how fast she was, but the second thing she knew, she downright splashed cold water on Alpha Dylan's face.
With flushed cheeks, a teasing grin appeared on her lips while watching the stupefied expression on his face become vivid by the second. She crossed her arms, cocked her head, and said. "The fact that you are in a rut means at least your wolf accepted me as your second chance mate."
Alpha Dylan's attention sharply snapped toward her. Wiping his face, he growled his words. "Do not spout such nonsense, omega!"
