Alicia's reply was just as Chuck expected.
Chuck's smile faded a little, and he gave a slight laugh, "I guess so. You've been here for ages. The thought of moving must be tough."
He hid his disappointment well, making sure Alicia didn't notice.
When the award ceremony wrapped up, Alicia, clutching her backpack, made her way to the exit to wait for Louis. She'd tried to get ahold of him before but always ended up talking to his assistant, who claimed he was busy. Today, at last, she had an opportunity. She needed to give him back some important things.
She waited nearly fifteen minutes. Then, Louis showed up, surrounded by helpers and security guards. His good looks were striking, and he had a confident, unique style. Tall and broad, he looked perfect in his tailored suit, the picture of a well-dressed gentleman.
