Heading downstairs, Louis carefully helped Alicia, making sure she didn't trip on any steps. Alicia thought he was overreacting, but she didn't say anything. He was a new dad, and she figured he'd get used to it soon enough.
When they got to the ground-floor restaurant, they saw a delicious meal made by Doris. There was milk, tiramisu, beef and broccoli, mixed nuts, and fresh fruit.
Doris wiped her hands on her apron and welcomed them. Holding a fork, she said happily, "Mr. Martinez, I used the recipes you gave me. If there's anything else you want, just tell me."
Alicia looked at the breakfast table and smiled. "It looks amazing, all my favorites."
Doris blushed and grinned.
As Alicia sat down, Louis scooped up some tasty rice porridge and brought it to her lips. She frowned, saying, "You don't have to do this; I'm just pregnant. It's a normal part of a woman's life. There's no need for special treatment."
