"Divorce!" The word hit Henry like a lightning bolt. He had faced many challenges in his business and had learned how to keep his cool when things got tough. But now, his heart raced with fear.
Even though he was rattled, he kept a tough exterior. "Paige," he blurted, "are you kidding?"
Paige replied with a cold smile, "I'm not kidding. I'm telling you seriously."
Unable to believe what he was hearing, Henry said, "We've been together for ages, our son has been married for three years, and you want a divorce? Over something so small as what happened today? I accidentally spilled yogurt on Maddie and helped her clean up. That's just being polite."
Hearing her name, Madelyn quickly got up from the couch. With a pout and a look of hurt on her face, she said, "Aunt Paige, you've got it all wrong."
