Alicia couldn't shake her worry, so she checked each room again. Louis knew what was on her mind and realized that trying to stop her would only make things worse. He didn't do anything, just stood behind her with one hand in his pocket, watching her search from afar.
Usually, Alicia was graceful and poised, but today she was like a lost bee, buzzing around without any of her usual grace. Louis felt a twinge in his heart as he watched her.
When Alicia finally stopped, Louis walked over and gently asked, "Who are you looking for?"
Since she hadn't slept all night, Alicia's response was slow. She didn't think much about it and didn't hide her intentions. "I'm looking for Madelyn," she said bluntly.
A sarcastic smile appeared on Louis's face. "You think I spent the night with her?"
"Yeah."
