"We will sign," Maya said with a determined tone, making Nate's lips curl up into a smile. "But I want to deal with someone more experienced, this makes it seem like you are treating our—Miller Industries like a joke!"
"A joke?! A joke?!" Nate asked as he looked appalled by her words.
"Yes, what would my grand—the CEO say and the Vice President say if I told them that I met with an employee who has only been with the company for a few days?" she asked calmly, she knew she had the upper hand.
DLR Industries might be the biggest company in the country, but even they weren't immune to rumors and a bad reputation.
"It's not like DLR is the only company in this meeting that sent a green employee," Nate pointed out, as his stare at Maya turned cold. It was as if he were a different person, more intimidating, someone truly dangerous.
Maya shook away the thought and the image of Nate being dangerous in her head.
