Chapter 4 - What a moon elf lord can do?

Two days passed and now is the third day of Luis' new life. He spent his first two days resting and studying the inheritance that he got.

So this time, the lazing elf lord actively proposed to go out for a walk.

The ever-attentive moon elves prepared for a short excursion, complete with all the escorts and snacks...

Only to find out that it was just a stroll around the plateau.

The moon elves stood in complete silence for quite a while. Contemplating their decisions in life.

Luis looked at the moon elves and gave a very carefree smile.

"You don't need to treat me as something fragile, you know," said the juvenile-looking elf lord. Not realizing the misunderstanding that happen.

"We thought-" a young-looking moon elf tried to answer only to be interrupted by a middle-aged warrior. They are currently dressed in hard animal skin armour. Looking as if they are out for war.

No matter what angle they look at, they are overdressed for a simple stroll. The moon elves' faces were tinged with a slight pinkish blush.

"We will pay attention next time, my Lord." the middle aged moon elf who appears to be a leader took charge to answer. This male has a very attractive visual in modern (Earth) standards, tall and manly.

Luis the thirs- well, the glorious moon elf lord repeatedly gaze at these two from head to foot like a broken scanner. After seeing enough of the cuts and bulges, he made a meaningful nod.

The young moon elf can't help but be uncomfortable under such a gaze. On the other hand, the elder one stood firm on his ground.

"It seems like this is the first time that I've seen you two, It's nice to meet you. I am the new elf lord," Luis actively greets upon seeing these two blond hotties.

"Pardon our disrespect, my Lord. We missed your birth since we are out of the Amber Forest at that time. I am Legland, the head of the sentinels." Said the elder blonde with crimson eyes.

"Pardon for not introducing myself, my Lord. I am Rion, vice-captain of the Oriole Squad," said the younger blonde with silver eyes.

Luis looked at the other escorts and then at these pair. Luis then realized that there is something different between this two. He can't quite put his finger on it with just his bare eyes.

Was it their aura? He stopped for a moment then sharpened his senses. This is one of the few techniques that he learned from inheritance.

Cosmic sense.

It is a technique that uses the power of nature to enhance the lord's sensitivity to energy, spirits and other intangible things.

He then took a look at the two again and is amazed at what he saw.

What he sees is an intricate flow of lights around the body of the two. Legland's body is covered with tiny red flame-like lights that flow around like a violent river, this is the so called plate. A few of those lights would slowly leak out of his body and just behind his heart where most of the light converge was a solid, pale red sphere. Of which Luis assumed as the core. It revolves in a very stable manner despite the violent waves of lights around it.

Rion, on the other hand, has a dark red core and the lights on his body are silvery and it moves in a very swift manner. However if Legland's was restrained that it formed into a river, then Rion's plate forms a few faint lines but most of it will scatter with his body. Despite this, the lights leaked are a little bit less than Legland's.

"Impressive. As expected of the head of the sentinels, a four-star warrior and a well-trained plate," Luis is never thrifty of complements to this kind of hotties. Especially this one. Luis admits that he's got a penchant for Dilfs.

"And quite promising for a young sentinel, Rion. Already a two-star warrior with a very strong plate. You must have the most stamina among your peers!" As far as he knows from the inheritance, the more well-formed the plate was, the larger the output of elemental powers that they can use.

The still-green vice-captain of the Oriole Squad blushed at such compliments from the lord with ulterior motives.

Seeing the almost identical smile made Luis ask, "Are you related to each other?"

"He is my father my Lord," said Rion obviously referring to Legland.

"Wait, I'm sorry. Who was your father?" Luis asked again seemingly out of it.

"He is my son my Lord," affirmed Legland.

"Oh, wow! I-I thought I heard something else but... Wow!" The elf lord looks incredulous right now. "I thought you're just probably thirty-three and Rion is twenty-one. You know, like brothers. I didn't expect that."

Legland laughed a very sexy laugh.

'Damn it.'

"I am not that juvenile, my Lord. I am ninety-eight and Rion is 45. But thank you for the compliment, my Lord"

'The hell with that pearly white teeth. Why do you need to pair it with a dimple!'

"Then the wife- I mean your mate. He must be a very strong wind power user. Where is he now?" He just assumed since Rion is a wind power warrior. At this point, Luis is no longer certain why he asked that.

For hope or woe. Fingers crossed.

"Rean is an alchemist working with the temple. He must be busy doing his research."

"I see." The slut of a lord answered like a deflated balloon. " So lucky," he whispered.

"Yes, we are lucky to have him as a mate and as the mother of my child," Legland said full of awe and love.

The best thing about Luis, he's got a deep pool of experience, so this scene is just like any other setbacks from the past. He's not just a flirt. He's a smart flirt with a sense of integrity who knows when and how to draw the line.

So this instance ended with Luis training his utilisation of nature's energy.

First, was the Lord's Eye View. It was done by urging a huge amount of energy to flow in his eyes to increase the range of his vision. He can also see things from afar in a closer perspective. Kind of like the zoom-in function of a camera.

He used it to snipe with a little ulterior motive around the Amber Forest.

"Oh, surprisingly, you guys actually live in stone houses!" He is not being malicious. Luis is really surprised to see that the moon elves are living in an infrastructure that is not a tree house.

There's nothing of such thing in the inheritance.

"We started living in a stone house less than 400 years ago. There was a draught that swept the entire continent at that time. It was so extreme that it killed a lot of trees in the Amber Forest. Some of these were the foundation of our tree houses and they caused a lot of accidents. That was the time some of the residences of the moon elves are moved to land."

"Were there any other casualties at that time?" Disasters like that are Luis' taboo. He confronted such tragedies countless times. Many lives are wasted. Many hopes are crushed. During the apocalypse where anything can be the cause of someone's death, reports of fatalities will never fail to give him a sharp pain in his chest as the base leader.

This is not much different from that.

And he is not kind! Luis could say that for a thousand times.

"It was said that the moon elves of the water clan suffered a lot at that time. That should also be the reason why their population is lesser than most moon elves."

'Clan?' was what he wanted to ask but Luis was still down for knowing more about history. That wasn't the only thing that happened in the thousand years of the absence of the elf lord. Luis thought.

He knew he was bound to find out more. Of course, even though he is planning to live a couch potato life. He will still work a little bit- just a little bit to make the moon elves' life better.

"Our forefathers' tragedy is their tragedy. But the lessons that they've learned will always be ours to ponder." Luis just said it as a conclusion. However trivial these words are to someone who came from a civilization where information is at the tip of their fingers, to these moon elves who haven't even got a taste of modernization these words are full of wisdom.

Luis is still clueless that because of his thoughtless words that are more or less derived from shounen manga will become the foundation of a future legendary general who's dubbed as the 'Professor of War'. Because of his extensive knowledge of the history and his efficient use of it in his military tactics.

But that is for a latter story.

Right now.

Luis spent his time practising seriously. For real.

He suddenly came to terms with letter a, he is the elf lord with an entire race that he needed to take responsibility for. Their future would be his future. They suffer then of course he would suffer also. He needs to help elevate the quality of the moon elves' life if he wants to live comfortably. Luis did not want to be Maria Antoinette in the making.

As the moon elf lord, it is expected for him to start understanding the current state of the entire moon-elven race.

Then improve what he can improve and develop what he can develop.

And lastly letter b, he needs to be familiar with his strength.

As the elf lord, he is born with very high potential. He's got the inheritance as a guide (Luis still refuses the existence of the system though) so he needs to study, then train and train until he can finally do everything that an elf lord can do.

There is also a stronger version of this lord's eye view technique which is somewhat like an X-ray vision. That could make his vision unobstructed. It was called a Tyrant's Sight.

It requires much finer control of the energy so it's still out of reach for the studious elf lord.

It would be a great achievement if he could learn that.

Besides, that will be a great help for him.

Hence, Luis thought that it will be worthwhile when he has the time.

And so the practice ensued.
