Chapter 7 - Legends of the End Of World

"Wait, Legends of the End of World? That book?!" Luis can't help but exclaim.

"That's unbelievable!"

He has a very vague memory of that novel.

As far as he can remember, it should be that book that he saw among the confiscated goods. He easily noticed it out of that lot because it is the only hard-bound book among the sex toys, guns and illegal substances. He picked that book out of curiosity and read it all through the middle because of its interesting premise.

Truthful to its title, it is a zombie apocalyptic story but set in a world of swords and magic. It has the typical medieval era setting that surely entice readers who are diggin' for that trope.

If it was released in a peaceful modern world, it would make a stable stream for the reader.

However in an apocalyptic world like that time, no one would care to watch the life and death of someone in the hands of a zombie when you, yourself is not sure when you will going to die.

Luis is just attracted by the thought that the novel was set in a magical world with many different species of intelligent beings included so he read it.

Plus it was BL so he kind of enjoy his stay.

However as the base leader, he is swept up with work so he barely has time to continue reading. Time passed, and he forgot about the book altogether.

If you will ask him if he can recall the details of the book.

He can only answer barely with a reluctant look.

A lot of things happen, and it's impossible to remember the details piece by piece.

But since it's about the apocalypse.

Who else is best to ask about the end of the world aside from someone who lived through it?

He can guess the major events that will transpire in the book. And even if his guess was wrong, he is confident that can survive he has years of experience so to speak.

But really now?

"You've gotta be kidding me, bitch!"

Luis got a headache. Will he be tossed into a crazy world once again?

Regardless of the complex feeling that the moon elf lord has, the voice continued with her rude explanation.

"Yes, you are in the world of a book, Mr Moon Elf Lord. You are lucky to be reincarnated ten years before the first scenario of the novel Legends of the End of the World. And your main goal as the new moon elf lord is to secure the survival of your own race before the first scenario of the canon happens. As for what will happen later once the tragedy strikes this world, it's all up to you.

"Putting one paragraph in the book about your extinction is no big deal at all. Some quests may still appear at that time and the system and there may be rewards so check that out." The administrator said that matter of fact-ly. But the fact that he can die just after Luis has been reborn made him feel chills down his spine. He may not have recollections of his death before but now, he thinks that his death would be memorable.

"Now let me explain this newly styled system to you, moon elf lord." said the female roughly. Luis is sure that the voice is somewhat dripping with sarcasm and bragging even.

"There are quite a few changes in this version and I so badly wanted to bitch slap you for forcing me to create a new system interface." Luis scrunched his face with distance. 'This shrew,' he whispered in his mind. He so badly wanted to grab the administrator on the other end bitch slap her for a full half an hour. Show who is the real bitch among the two of them. Anyway, he's a classy bitch. He'll bury this hatchet then he'll stab her right through her aorta with a wooden stick once he sees her in the future. No big deal.

"Let's start with the minor details that are added in your status window." Then from this point, the tone of the administrator shifted to a more business-like tone.

"Firstly is the EXP bar, experience is what you get every time you complete a quest. Fill the EXP bar and level up. Then you will be awarded system points. System points are a virtual currency which you can use in the system." In the video, the EXP bar was filled up rapidly until it showed level up. Then there were gold coins carved with the initials of SP rolling until they turned into a pile.

The explanation is accompanied by a straightforward animation. Which makes the video look interesting to watch. Luis thinks that this video should be made by a professional. Just that.

"For what? Just wait for my explanation, you easy-go-lucky dumb."

Well, forget it. A professional shrew maybe.

He can feel the nerves on his forehead pulsating. It won't even be the end of the tutorial yet he may perish due to a brain aneurysm.

"Next is your abilities that you brought from the apocalypse. Originally, I do not want to mess with your abilities those are all learned and earned from hard work. But who told you to be overly lenient just because you are a level-five ability user? How sure are you that level five is the peak in this world? Just because you are a species of a lord you are invincible? Who told you that? The infinite nature's power that is inborn to moon elf lord?" The voice heaved a sigh. "You really need to study your strength little boy or you won't even reach the first scenario." Sounding as if stressed and helpless parent.

"The abilities are divided into skills to encourage the user, my Lord." The administrator's voice is dripping with venom. "Right now, you currently have three skills under your wood ability that are currently locked. And you can unlock them using the system points that you accumulated. As for the space ability, I can guarantee you that all the things that are stored in your storage space will be left untouched. Not even a single candy wrapper missing. You can unlock your space power sometime in the future after triggering a certain event. So don't worry about that.

"Also, as a last sign of goodwill and to make sure that you won't die that easily, you can use limited-use skill cards in the future. Isn't it encouraging? It's all because of you!"

"Huh?!" Luis could spit out fire at this moment.

What do you mean by that? He just dilly-dallying for a few days yet you made such a mess of a system. Who told you to work hard?

The moon elf lord's heart is full of indignation.

He can't believe that he needed to work hard all over again just to get the abilities that he painstakingly trained back then.

Fine! He will work hard and then become strong. Strong enough to drag this system administrator off of her high chair and manhandled her. Luis loves to be submissive but he wouldn't mind being a sadist for this kind of stinky-mouthed bitch.

The lady administrator carry on her explanation not knowing she was being torn to shreds inside a certain someone's mind.

"Now what are the ways to earn system points? The first was through levelling up. Currently, your system is at level one. Rise to level two then you will have system points. Keep on raising the level of your system, who knows, maybe you will receive greater rewards.

"Second is by completing quests. If you finished one quest, then you will receive a certain amount of system points depending on the difficulty of the quest itself or how great are your accomplishments.

"Complete the quests one after another, who knows maybe you will receive more rewards?" Said the administrator ambiguously. Luis is not sure if it was deliberate or it's because there is never meant to be a reward in the first place. The elf lord has an itchy feeling of being scammed. So be it. It's not like he has a choice.

"At this moment you are eligible for pre-canon quests these are quests that appear before the time of the novel. It may or may not affect the novels' scenario in the future so be careful about accomplishing them. If the action that you have taken has a big negative impact on the premise of the novel then you may become subject to a downgrade."

Luis' eyes turned wide. 'How f*cked up is that?' he yelled inwardly.

Where is the encouragement? Downgrade? What does that entail?

It didn't take long before his question was answered. But of course, it was answered in a most infuriating way!

"But don't worry about that too much. You will still be the elf lord of the moon elves. It's just that, maybe you will be left as just a part of the history when that happens." Is it Luis' imagination that he heard this bitch smiling while saying this?

If this is not cursing him to die Luis does not know what is.

'You (b)itch!'

And please don't hate the system so much as this is a new version and still in the testing period. It's your fault anyway so might as well swallow your grievances since you are dreaming of swallowing-

"Anyway, that's all for now. Enjoy your second life here, Mr Luis Lee." The voice said in a mocking tone. Luis was not sure when or what happened but he saw his pillow imbued in the moonstone wall of his room.
