Chetan, this is where I say goodbye," I cry.
"Zare, no I can't live without you," Chetan sobs.
"Zare, no, we will find another way." Ajay grabs my arm.
"It's the only way to save everyone."
"I know you're the one loved most in our pack," Ajay says.
"I love Zare," says Ash.
"I have great respect for Zare," says Elfie.
"How do we know that you'll keep your word, and everyone else will return?" Ajay asks.
" Witches keep their words," the witch says.
I walk and I am standing in front of Chetan. I place my hands on his wet face. Bringing my lips to his, I kiss him. I enjoyed the taste of his mouth one last time.
"How do you expect me to live without you?" He asks once our lips pull apart.
"Because you'll have everyone else."
I hear Ajay growl, but I move towards the witches. I don't feel afraid, I actually feel at peace. If I die and save my pack, my friends and the people I love must. Then I am proud.
Standing in front of the witch, I look at the hideous creature. Her green face and warts stare back at me. I swallow hard.
"Would you like to do the honors?" The witch asks.
"Zare, Zare no," I hear Chentan scream.
I shake my head.
"Since you are part Zombie, your body must be burned," the witch announced.
I nod. "As you wish."
I hear rushing behind me. Seeing Chetan behind me, I have no idea what he has planned.
"Just let me hug her one more time," he says.
The witch nods.
I turn and give Chetan a hug. I noticed behind his back he has the potion.
"Drunk it." He whispers to me.
I quickly drank down the Potion, burying my face in Chetan's chest so nobody could see. I kiss Chetan on the face and turn to leave.
"After Zare makes a sacrifice, I only want the Wolfpak to return plus Ash, not the vampires," Ajay says.
"Very smart move Alpha," the witch says.
"Yes, I don't want to sacrifice myself for vampires."
"I agree,'' says the witch.
"I am ready." I close my eyes.
I feel pressure in my chest and smell decay. Then I fell to the ground.
I watch the scene as if I was watching a movie. I see myself lying motionless on the ground. I hear Chetan and Ajay's cry and I see the witch take a bite out of my heart and pass it around to her clan. They are eating my heart.
After my heart is completely consumed, the witches change from green and ugly to beautiful. They look like plastic perfection. Their skin is shiny and looks human. They have pretty long flowing hair and wore normal human clothing. The leader has black leather pants and a shirt. The other two wore plaid skirts and belly shorts. This is getting very bizarre.
"You needed Zare's heart to look beautiful?" Chetan asks.
"Do you hear him? He called us beautiful, the other witch says who stood on the leader's right side.
"Where is your side of the deal?" Ajay barks.
"One more thing," says the leader. I watch as she sets my body on fire. The smell of burning flesh fills the air.
Chetan looks away as if he couldn't watch. He looks horrified, completely destroyed.
The witch snaps her fingers, and I see the pack all return. Everyone is crying and shaking back and forth. They stare straightforwardly, like they were traumatized.
"They will return back to normal soon. They were just trapped in her worst nightmare," the witches laugh before they get on their brooms and are up in the air.
I move towards the pack. I notice my feet float a couple of inches off the ground. Looking down at my arm, I see a white glow around it. Face to face with Chetan, I rub his face. He does move or acknowledge my touch.
"Chetan," I scream. He doesn't respond. He can't see or hear me.
