"Chetan, no, I scream," I jump up off the floor where I've been sleeping.
Closing my eyes, I still remember him smashing a red-colored bottle. I have no
idea what was in this bottle or what it meant. I miss him so much, so damn
much.
"Are you okay?" Ash asks.
I nod. "Bad dream."
Getting up from the ground, I dash off into the woods. It feels weird not seeing the
pack, especially my twin sister Kiara. AB doesn't want me to refer to them as my
pack, and now I am in a clan. A Vampire Clan.
The rain poured from the dark clouds above. It shocked my fur. I still love being in
my wolf form and feeling more natural. I felt more alive. My human form was
now a vampire with cold, clammy skin. I hate the burning thirst in my throat. I hate
my fangs used to tear apart creatures and animals. I hate being a vampire. I hated
being a killer.
I hear howling. I can tell that howl anywhere, Ajay. His cry has been filled
with pain since I left the pack. Ajay and I were very close. I miss him.
More and more creatures have awakened, sending AB into deep anger and
rage. I know it's moments before he plans his attack. I will protect the wolves.
I watch fairies jump from tree branch to tree branch. They laugh as they
chase each other. They glow up like fireflies, except with many different colors. It
must be easy to be a fairy. The other creatures are not intimidated by them because
they're so small. It will be a bloodbath between the vampires, centaurs, and
wolves.
I hear footsteps approaching me. Taking a big sniff, I smell Ash's scent. He
never leaves me for long. I change back into my Vampire form. Ash is a little bit
intimidated when I'm in my wolf form.
"What are you doing, love?" Ash asks once by my side.
"Watching the night sky."
"You need to drink," he tells me.
I nod. "I will just kill another creature or animal."
"You are a vampire. You need to get past this," he tells me.
"I can't."
"Then what are you going to do then, let your throat burn?" He yells.
"Keep your voice down, I don't need AB on my back."
"I am sorry, you're right," Ash says.
"Well, duh."
I watch the sun start to rise. It was beautiful. The red and orange shine over
the trees. Ash puts his arm around me and pulls me into his cold side. I miss the warmth of Ajay or Chetan. I feel disappointed in myself, remembering cuddling
with both. It's now easy to admit that I was in love with both men.
We both hear the howl of the pack. I jump a little. Ash crocks his head to the
side. "That seems surprisingly close," he tells me.
"They are near."
"That means the Alpha wants something," Ash remarks.
"Or someone."
Ash hiss showing his fangs. "Over my dead body."
I laugh. "Literally your dead body."
Ash laughs too. Kissing me on the cheek.
