Chapter 3 - THE WAR IS FAR FROM OVER.

"The last wave." shouted Bolu. The second wave was a small group of Pedigrins; a bizarre mixture of a horses with the head spine and tail of a snake, a huge snake. Though they were able to kill of the herd, some of the hunters where affected by their powerful weakening poison that made them nearly pass out coupled with the bite mark that gave them profuse bleeding. While the healers where tending to those who survived ( healers were hunters or awakeners who had the ability to control other people cells through skin to skin contact, that enables them to be able to close up wounds, cuts, burns, fractures and many other) The rest got ready for the final boss. Bolu had told the other Generals that there were two a rank monsters rather than one, and he was right. Just above the head of the big silhouette of the first A rank monster which was guessed to be a Kaiju , something like a humanoid being, though a bit taller, could be seen on a closer inspection. The beast on top had a huge weapon in its hand that looked very much like a large wooden bat. The generals were perplexed to know that the big A rank monster that they had initially feared was only a mount for the one above, and now they could only guess the real power of the rider.

Bolu sheathed his berserker and suddenly dashed across the plains towards the beast and its rider, which prompted the other two generals to follow behind as well as the rest of the still standing hunters.

"NO!!!" Bolu's loud voice rang out all across the plains with a terrifying A rank aura that almost made the other two generals stumble. "Only the Generals are to come with me!! The rest of you should stay behind."

Immediately after he said that, the rest of the hunters slowed down and stopped and decided to watch how their soon to be A rank generals would fight due to the immediate realization that instead of giving backup they would only be a hindrance to the Generals.

After the hunters had done as he had told them to, Bolu slowed down his pace a bit and allowed the other two generals to catch up with him.

"What's the plan old man?!" Karl called out. It really was quite had to have a normal conversation while running at the speed he was in.

"No plan." Bolu replied with the quickest of glance at them.

"Wha…?!" Retorted Judea, who got so flabbergasted at what he heard he almost tripped. The master of strategies; General Bolu had no plan? Impossible… maybe he didn't hear him well. Judea slowed down because he saw Bolu do the same; as well as Karl and also due to the fact that they were almost fifty yards in front of the beast and its rider; which had already stopped and were accompanied by some Pedigrins.

"What's the plan?" Judea asked this time, after they had stopped and were already in their fighting stance. The beast was already a problem, now coupled with its rider who they were sure would have a higher intelligence than the beast itself, so permit him for being a bit scared over the fact that he needed a plan that would work out right, he still has his family to see.

Unsheathing his two long and short katana that were at his left and right waist respectively. Bolu flexed his shoulders to relief them of their rigidity and for a smoother battle, before speaking.

"Like I said before, there is no plan." Using his katana to point at the rider. "I'll solo the rider, you guys should take care of the beast, if you can finish it off at once do it and help me, if you can…"

"What happens if we can't?"

"Then hold it down as long as possible until the A rank team arrives."

"You want to take on the rider by yourself?! You going to lose your life easily as yo…" Started Judea hotly but was interrupted by Karl's voice.

"Can you survive?" Karl asked while his green eyes probed the elder's man dark ones. He asked that question not as a form of disrespect but because he knew that the old man was currently hiding his real rank through some suppression method still fighting a fighting a Kaiju might be a bit easy for the three of them combined, fighting its rider was a different matter as well as fighting them both. So he had to ask so as to know whether he would choose to fight or they would only have to hold the demon beast back.

Bolu gave a quick grin. "I can hold out long enough."

"That's all we needed to know." Karl replied. With a quick jerk of head towards the beast, Karl said to Judea before dashing upfront. "Let's go."

Judea gazed hard into Bolus soul and in that moment their expression spoke louder than words, from master to apprentice. Following Karl's departure in a hurry, Judea yelled out three words that made Bolu's eyes glint with tears. "Don't die master!"

"Don't worry! Am not that easy to kill!" Bolu yelled back. He drew in a huge breath, squatted and then with an immense force that created a huge crater in the ground, he launched himself into the air, flying freely and quickly towards the rider.

The height of the Kaiju was no joke. It was like trying to leap over a fifty story building with one jump, which of course to non-rankers and many low leveled may seem impossible, but for him who was now finally able to use eighty-six percent of his strength in a battle it was a mere lead. It seemed like the rider knew of Bolu's intention and was not liking it one bit, the rider dragged out something that looked like reins and the Kaiju followed; lifting its fore legs up so that it can again tower the ascending Bolu. Bolu was almost a few meters away from it before he saw it raise its two front legs and he knew that they had gotten him good because the legs of the Kaiju would come crashing down on him and he being in the air would make their attack an unavoidable and critical hit, but when has he ever rushed into a battle without planning steps ahead and foreseeing various possibilities? He had already thought of this possibility but it seemed like it was not only him that had foreseen it, Judea had too as well because before the Kaiju had raised its front legs he had already pinned his two curved daggers into the giant leg of the Kaiju, so that he was also lifted up during the ascent. Just before the giant's legs could come down, Judea swung himself viciously towards the Kaiju's face by moving in between the Kaiju's raised legs. His movement was fluid and in one go he was not only able to avoid the destructive force that would occur if he was on the ground when the Kaiju's legs would make a quaking contact, but was also able to get a generous lift and a good access to one of the greatest weakness of every being…it's eyes.

Karl and Bolu were very impressed at the young general quick decision, but they were not able to congratulate him or complement on his great thinking due to the fact that they were still in danger of being hit because unlike General Judea that they had taken the hard way of approach.

The legs came down in a ferocious manner and in an instant it almost tore a hole in the air.

Bolu did a quick front flip and with great strength kicked the air and flew backwards so that he was no longer in the center of the leg but at the edge, then the moment the legs whizzed past him, he did another front flip but this time kicking the air so that he moved towards the falling leg then before coming into contact he sank his two katana into the tough skin, removed it in an instant and then with his legs moving at a terrifying speed he dashed upward on the falling leg with each of his legs movement giving a tremendous air burst.

Karl dashed towards the underbelly of the Kaiju where he had spotted a soft skin amidst the tough thick skin covering the Kaiju, and when the legs came crashing down, he used the explosion force as well as his own dash to reach the underbelly, used the opposite side of the his left axe to clung on to a gap between the thick amour like skin and then with a great but determined effort he swung himself towards where the soft skin was and delivered a very powerful cut that made the body of the Kaiju shiver as blue blood came gushing out of the cut. The little movement of the Kaiju made him lost his balance and he fell back to the ground.

Judea had landed on the nose of the Kaiju; that is if you could call it a nose. He had been spotted by the Kaiju rider, who had brought out its giant weapon but was instantly distracted by the sudden shudder of its Kaiju. Using that distraction, Judea dashed towards the Kaiju eyes which were six in number. He stabbed at one and was in the process of stabbing another when he was immediately grabbed by a hand and thrown on his back. Before he could react to what was happening, he saw a heavy blade swing at him at a very close range, while closing his eyes in fear he immediately noticed another sweep of silver that hit the heavy blade in order to stop its motion, which worked quite well seeing that he had not been sliced to half yet.

"Get up quickly!" Ordered Bolu. He had only just been lucky enough to be on time. He would have used his long sword or his shield to counter the heavy swing but he couldn't owing to the fact that switching his weapon would take time, so he prayed that the katana would contain the fierce swing and luckily it did. Maybe it was because the Kaiju's rider was expecting it to be an easy kill or maybe it was because of the trembling Kaiju beneath him that led it to focus more on accuracy than power, whether it was any of those reason Bolu didn't want a tryout of another of that attack especially with Judea underneath the collision of both blade.

With raw power, Bolu lifted the rider sword with his own and he could feel his katana crack lightly underneath the great pressure that was created from the clashing their dangerous aura. The rider appeared cloaked from top to bottom but with the close distance that Bolu had instantly made, he was probably the only being that had been that up and close with that particular rider, though he didn't know it, and it was what made the rider a bit stunned that a mere human had come that close to him. Bolu didn't even noticed what was going on in that rider's mind but he immediately used the riders stunned moment to grab him and made both of them fall off the Kaiju after throwing a word that seemed to wake both Judea and its rider up.

They fell almost a hundred feet to the ground and with a large thud and lots of dust, they landed on large debris of earth that were brutally removed by the Kaiju's previously brutal stomp. They both separated and each held their weapons with a great sense of alertness; Bolu alert at the unsure attack the rider could perform and the rider alert for any more surprising feat from Bolu. All was silent as though the silence between them was stolen and the rowdy attack between the other two generals and the Kaiju was not happening at the very moment. Then like in slow motion they both moved; the Kaiju with his huge stick like sword and Bolu with his sharp and long terrifying double edged sword, and when the two swords came into contact, a bizarre flash of blue light accompanied by a loud crackling sound deafening the area while releasing a sharp gust of wind that sliced through debris and grasses fifty meters around them.
