I opened the white box and to my surprise, it was the red heels which he put on me just now.
"It's beautiful." I put it on and went to the mirror to check myself. I really loved it.
"Why he bought this for me?" I asked myself while I still looked at myself in the mirror. My body jolted when I heard a sound of a broken glass.
I quickly took off the heels and ran to the living room. My mum was throwing a glass on the wall.
"Mum, what are you doing?" I asked, but she ignored me. This time, she took an empty bottle of beer and smashed it to the wall.
"Mum, stop it! You're going to hurt yourself!" I tried to stop her, but she pushed me away making me fell onto the broken glass.
"Ouch!" I groaned in pain. I looked at my palm and there were several of broken glasses piercing my skin. My mum suddenly cried.
"I miss Roland." Roland was her beloved husband.
"You know, I saw him today with that woman. He looks so happy with her." She sobbed.
My heart crushed and tears began to well up in my eyes. I stood up and walked to my mum, ignoring the pain in my palm and my feet. I sat next to her and I pulled her into a hug.
I patted her back gently while comforting her. My poor mum.
"Mum, I'm here for you and I love you." I hugged her tightly like my life depended on her.

After putting my mum to bed, I decided to go to the drug store to buy some ointment for my wound and some pain killer for my mum.
After I bought what I needed from the drug store, I decided to stop by the convenience store. My mouth was craving for an ice cream. A magnum almond ice cream.
Just the thought of it made my mouth watered. Unfortunately, I did not have enough money to buy my ice cream. Looks like it was not my day today.
I turned around and I was surprised to see Alessandro.
"Hello, Renee."
"Hi! I'm surprise to see you here. What are you doing here?" I asked and he showed me a box of cigarettes on his hand.
"What about you? What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Err... Nothing. I was just passing by." I lied. It was embarrassing to tell him the truth.
"I see." He walked to the freezer and he took two magnum almond ice cream. I did not know that he likes magnum ice cream too.
He went to the counter to pay while I decided to leave the convenience store and go home since it was getting late.
"Renee, wait!" I stopped and looked back.
"Let me take you home." He offered.
"Thank you for the offer, but I'll just walk. Beside, my house is not far from here." I rejected his offer.
"I insist." He took the plastic bag from my hand which contained things that I bought from the drug store then he went to his car. This guy was persistent. I did not have any choice, but to go with him.
"Are you sick?" He asked once I got into his car.
"No. Why?"
"I saw some pain killer inside this plastic bag, so I thought you might be unwell."
"It's for my mum." He just nodded without saying anything. He started the car and drove to my house.
"Thanks for the ride. Have a good night, Alessandro." I was about to open the door, but he stopped me.
"Wait. Here, this is for you." He handed me the magnum almond ice cream that he bought just now.
"You don't want it?"
"I don't like sweets. I bought this for you." How sweet of him.
"Thank you." I took the ice cream from his hand, but he suddenly held my hand making me surprised by his sudden action.
"What happened to your hand?" He asked while his eyes fixed on my wound.
"I accidentally fell on a broken glass."
"Does it still hurt?" His eyes softened and he looked concerned.
"A little bit."
He took the ointment that I bought just now and he put it on my wound gently and carefully like my skin was made of glass. He tore the band aid and he put it on my wound.
"Thank you." I thanked him meanwhile he was still quite.
My heart felt like it was going to jump out from my ribcage when he suddenly brought my wounded palm to his lips and he kissed my wound.
"You should be more careful next time." He said after he detached his lips from my wound.
"I-I will." I stuttered.
"Good night, Renee." He bid me goodnight with a gentle smile on his face.
"Good night to you too, Alessandro." I got out from his car. I waved at him before I walked into my house with happiness dancing inside of me.
I sat down on my bed then I looked at my wound. I caressed it as I remembered he kissed it just now. My eyes landed on the red heels that he gave me today. A smile formed on my lips.
He may looked cold, but he was a kind and sweet gentleman. He was totally my type of man. Unfortunately, he is 25 while I am 17. There was no way a guy like him will fall for me and I should not like him.
A great man like him will surely preferred a mature, independent, career and a hot smokin woman, and not a childish girl like me. He was kind to me maybe because I was Jessica's best friend. That was all.
I needed to get this through my head, so I will not fall for him. I admitted that I was attracted to him the moment I bumped into him at his study room.
But, I cannot fall for him. I should not keep this feeling until it will bloom into love. I had to get rid of it.
