Valerie's threats were beginning to sound like the ranting of a crazy old woman in Stella's ears. It was beginning to lose its potency especially now that Stella was aware of Valentino's absence.
"I'll do what I can but I just have one question that needs clarification. What if Adrian fails to fall in love with you after all my efforts? I believe you know he's a full-grown man and not a child that you can cajole into doing something against his wish." Stella said as she tried to suppress the hint of mockery in her tone.
Valerie took in a deep breath to control her rage. She knew in all of the sarcasm, Stella was saying the bitter truth.
