Chapter 89 - Chapter 82: Preparing for Armageddon

As Arthur's ominous declaration echoed across the battlefield, a tense silence settled among the remaining forces. Milford, undeterred by the aftermath of {Apocalypse Nova}, held his ground with newfound determination. Kikotenshin Nekonyan, despite the shock, swiftly assessed the situation, formulating strategies to counter the imminent threat.

The Choir of Blood, Shalltear's vampiric army, after their massacre, remained poised for further commands, their crimson eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"You speak with boldness, Ancient One, but we shall not yield easily," Kikotenshin responded, his half-wind spirit aura manifesting with an ethereal glow. "The Great Gods and the Greed Kings will unite against you if we have to."

Milford, with unsteady moment, added, "I don't care if you're the Destroyer of Asgard or the King of Nazarick. You humiliated me, for that, you'll pay!"

Arthur, maintaining his eerie composure, simply smiled. "Let them come. I am ready for a war, and the stage is set for an epic confrontation. The world will witness the ascension of a new order." With a 'T' pose.

The atmosphere crackled with tension as the forces on both sides prepared for the inevitable clash.

News about the presence of another player quickly spread amongst the two Empires.

In the Slane theocracy, all the Great Gods gathered in a somber meeting hall, their expressions reflecting a mixture of concern and determination. The news of Ancient One's arrival had reached them, and the gravity of the situation demanded strategic discussions.

Discussion gripped the assembly of Great Gods in the Slane Theocracy, each elemental deity expressing concerns and strategies to counter the threat posed by Ancient One.

"400 hundred years? Just when we thought the situation couldn't get worse, we face an adversary with a history as deeper than ours," Crimson, the God of Fire, remarked, his flames flickering with a mixture of frustration and determination.

Hansuki, the God of Water, added, "Ancient One's arrival signals a challenge not just to our empire but to the balance of the entire world. We need to act swiftly and decisively."

Hansuki continued, "A strategic alliance is imperative. We should establish communication channels and share information about Ancient One's abilities. Knowledge will be our shield in this battle."

"Kikotenshin, you are the one who fought with him. Did you notice any of his abilities?"

Kikotenshin Nekonyan nodded solemnly. "Indeed, I faced the Ancient One in combat. His magical prowess is vast and unpredictable. He commands a variety of spells and possesses a keen understanding of strategic magic. But the problem is, what I fought was the Ancient One's doppelganger shape shifted form. And, as you all know, a doppelganger can only copy up to 80 per cent of the original, so what we fought was not his strongest state."

(AN: they thought that Arthur Incubus form one of doppelganger shifted form.)

"What do you think about his companion? The one who slaughtered your and Milford's army." Hansuki asked.

"I have no idea, I was busy dealing with Ancient One," Kikotenshin replied.

"And during our encounter, I heard him murmur, "Guardian's Embrace." I think it's one of his abilities."

Hansuki continued, "Kikotenshin, write a report, gather all available intelligence on the Ancient One, which you think will be necessary. We must compile a comprehensive dossier to guide our forces in battle. Our success hinges on exploiting any vulnerabilities we can find."

Alah Alaf, the God of Light, proposed a diplomatic approach. "We should explore the possibility of forming alliances with neighbouring kingdoms and factions. A united front will not only bolster our forces but also discourage Ancient One's advances."

Alah Alaf continued, "And Let us send emissaries to the Greed Empire. We must form an alliance with the Greed Kings to stand a chance against Ancient One's overwhelming might."

"I am against the idea of joining forces with Greed Kings." Zag Lauransan, the God of Earth, voiced his discomfort.

Hansuki, undeterred by Zag Lauransan's objections, pressed on, "Zag, The very essence of our existence is at stake. We cannot afford to let personal disputes hinder our cooperation. Unity is our only path forward."

"And you also know that he was the one who single-handedly destroyed {Union of Eight Guilds}. And we are only six players. And his title as the strongest YGGDRASIL player is not for show."

Zag Lauransan, resolute in his stance, responded, "I understand the gravity of the situation, but the Greed Kings have been our adversaries for centuries. Trusting them now could lead to unforeseen consequences."

Kikotenshin Nekonyan, the God of Wind, interjected, "Our enmity with the Greed Kings pales in comparison to the threat posed by Ancient One. We must prioritize the survival of our realms over ancient grievances."

Crimson, the God of Fire, added a pragmatic perspective, "Regardless of our past, facing Ancient One alone is a perilous endeavour. If an alliance with the Greed Empire increases our chances of survival, we must consider it."

Hansuki, emphasizing the urgency of their situation, declared, "Time is of the essence. We cannot afford internal divisions. Let us put aside our differences and focus on strategies to repel Ancient One's imminent assault."

Alah Alaf, the God of Light, proposed a diplomatic approach, "In addition to forming alliances, we should seek help from the neutral factions and scholars. An alliance with the Greed Empire may not be the sole solution, but comprehensive information could be our greatest asset."

"And I propose the use of world-class items in the upcoming battle."

Zag Lauransan, the God of Earth, raised an eyebrow at Alah Alaf's suggestion but nodded in agreement. "Diplomacy and information are valuable, but we must also harness the power of our artefacts. A World-class item could tip the scales in our favour."

Kikotenshin Nekonyan, the God of Wind, considered the proposal. "Agreed. We must assess our arsenal of world-class items and determine the most effective one against Ancient One."

"Currently, we have two world items in our possession. Surshana, which one of these world items would be most effective against Ancient One?" Crimson, the God of Fire, inquired, his flames flickering with anticipation.

Surshana, the God of Darkness, leaned forward, his skeletal visage revealing a hint of interest. "Among the two world items at our disposal, {Dominion Scepter} possesses the ability to give absolute control over armies and we will use that. But we will keep {Downfall of Castle and Country}, just in case."

As the Great Gods deliberated on their strategies, a sense of urgency permeated the meeting hall. The fate of the mortal world rested on their shoulders, and the looming threat of Ancient One demanded swift and decisive action.

The news of Ancient One's presence had not only sparked discussions within the Slane Theocracy but also reached the ears of the Greed Empire. In the heart of the Greed Empire, the Eight Greed Kings and influential figures gathered in their own war council to address the impending danger.
