Chapter 84 - Chapter 77: Sparks of War

Kikotenshin Nekonyan, God of wind, along with his battalion marched towards Re-estize kingdom. Because Kikotenshin Nekonyan was undercover, the command of the army was given to his trusted general, a fearsome warrior known as Kurogiri. The battalion comprised not only divine warriors but also agile wind spirits, their presence adding an ethereal quality to the march.

Kurogiri, a stalwart commander with a deep understanding of both mortal and divine affairs, led the battalion with precision.

As they neared the kingdom's outskirts, Kikotenshin Nekonyan, disguised among the soldiers, signalled for a momentary halt. In a hushed tone, he instructed General Kurogiri to split the army into two factions—the larger contingent to advance towards Re-estize, and a specialized unit led by Kikotenshin himself to venture into the wastelands.

The mission carried a dual purpose — to assess the state of the kingdom and to find out whether the news about the player was true or was just a misunderstanding from their side. The God of wind observed the mortal realm with keen interest, contemplating the delicate balance of power and the currents of fate that guided the destinies of kings and commoners alike.

The God of Wind's eyes glinted with an otherworldly wisdom as he explained the dual objective. "While Re-estize may hold valuable information, I suspect the wastelands may harbour players or remnants of YGGDRASIL. We must not overlook any potential threats."

General Kurogiri, acknowledging the deity's command, swiftly organized the troops. The first division, a formidable force, marched towards Re-estize, their armour glinting ominously in the moonlight. The second division, under the watchful eye of Kikotenshin Nekonyan, set their course for the vast and desolate wastelands.

As Kikotenshin Nekonyan ventured into the desolate wastelands with his specialized unit, Milford, a war-loving madman with a twisted sense of joy in conflict, observed the unfolding events from a distance. The moonlit night bore witness to the convergence of two arch-enemies, each with their own armies poised for confrontation.

Milford, unable to resist the thrill of battle, sent a separate unit from his forces to shadow General Kurogiri's division heading towards Re-estize. His eyes gleamed with anticipation, relishing the chaos about to unfold. Meanwhile, Kikotenshin Nekonyan, unaware of Milford's presence, advanced through the windswept wastelands, his senses attuned to the subtle currents of the air.

In the heart of the desolation, the two adversaries, separated by the expanse of the wastelands, finally crossed paths. Milford, clad in dark armour that seemed to absorb the very essence of the shadows, stepped forward with a manic grin. "Kikotenshin Nekonyan! The winds whisper tales of our destiny colliding once again!"

The God of Wind, his divine presence concealed within the guise of a mortal, faced Milford. The wind spirits swirled around Kikotenshin Nekonyan, sensing the imminent clash.

Hearing Milford's proclamation, the soldiers surrounding Kikotenshin Nekonyan, recognizing the gravity of the impending confrontation, went on high alert. They formed a defensive perimeter, ready to shield their god from any potential threat. However, Kikotenshin Nekonyan, with a simple gesture, dismissed their protective stance.

Most of the soldiers haven't met any Greed Kings, but they have seen the portrait of the Demon King.

With a graceful motion, the God of Wind signalled for his soldiers to step aside.

"Milford, it's been a while since we met. Last time we met you were eating dirt from the ground.

Milford, his manic grin undeterred, responded to Kikotenshin Nekonyan's words with a twisted sense of amusement. "Ah, Kikotenshin Nekonyan. I remember that encounter well. But things have changed since then. Today, I feast upon the winds of chaos, and the taste is far more exhilarating than any dirt from the ground."

Kikotenshin Nekonyan, his eyes narrowing in suspicion, shot back, "Was this whole setup a plan to make us come to you?"

Milford, undeterred, let out a boisterous laugh. "Nah, not my style, Kikotenshin Nekonyan. I'm all about chaos, not pullin' strings. I'm here for the thrill of the battle."

But Kikotenshin Nekonyan wasn't buying it. "Then, was it your 'friends' plan to lure us into a trap?"

Milford's grin shifted to a more contemplative look. "Nope, not them either."

"Then why are you here with your force? Clearly, it's not for a picnic." Kikotenshin Nekonyan asked.

"Well, we got word that one of our enemies is leaving their base, so we couldn't just sit there; therefore, they sent me to check it out. As for the army, we don't know if it's a trap or not, so it's for insurance. Seeing that it's not your scheme, Could it be someone else's game, playin' with fale God and madmen alike?"

Kikotenshin Nekonyan, still concealed in the guise of a mortal, assessed Milford with a discerning gaze. "Seems like we've got ourselves a new enemy, huh?" The God of Wind's words carried an undertone of caution, recognizing the gravity of the situation.

"But it doesn't matter." Milford said as he equipped his great Sword." Since you are here in front of me it would be a waste to let you go unscratched."

"Bors and Hougan said to attack me." Kikotenshin Nekonyan asked knowing full well that they are the only ones who can think rationally among Greed Kings. And they are the reason why Milford is at the border of Re-Eztize.

"No, they said no to engage in unnecessary battle because of the news of another player."

Milford chuckled, his greatsword gleaming ominously in the moonlight. "Well, Kikotenshin Nekonyan, you know me. I can't resist a brawl, even if my 'friends' prefer a more cautious approach. I couldn't resist the temptations of knocking down those teeth one by one."

Kikotenshin Nekonyan, still in his mortal guise, maintained a calm demeanour. "No need for unnecessary conflict, Milford. We both have a common enemy, a new player who may pose a greater threat. Engaging in this battle would only play into their hands."

Milford's grin widened, revealing a glint of madness. "True, true, but where's the fun in not throwing a few punches? Besides, it's not every day I get to face you guys."

As the tension hung in the air, the soldiers on both sides watched the exchange with a mix of anticipation and wariness. The wind spirits, attuned to Kikotenshin Nekonyan's command, remained poised but ready to act.

Kikotenshin Nekonyan's eyes glimmered with a subtle challenge. "We have a greater task at hand, Milford. Let's not be distracted by personal clashes. If we survive the encounter with this new player, there will be plenty of time for our battles."

"What Kikotenshin Nekonyan is indeed true Milford. You have a common enemy so instead of fighting against each other you should ally yourself and fight against me." Said the voice surprising everyone on the battlefield including Milford and Kikotenshin Nekonyan.

"Who are you?" Kikotenshin Nekonyan asked after recovering from the initial surprise.

"Me? I am the one you guys are looking for." Said the handsome man in a coat and suit.

"And I also bought some gifts for both of you guys." He said as opened a black portal took two heads and threw them at Kikotenshin Nekonyan and Milford's feet.

"Kurogiri!" Kikotenshin Nekonyan murmured as he looked down.

Milford just looked at the Milf head and then looked at the man.

"I hope you like my present."

"I like it that why I going to separate that head from your body," Milford said.
