Isla heard that the group just wanted them to participate in a quest and her worries settled. Repaying a life saving favour with help is acceptable, but hearing the way the group spoke of the place they're going, Isla was a little uneasy.
When she looked down at the unconscious Sila, she became even more worried. The last fight was almost the end of them, and that group seems to be able to hunt earth bears casually, so what kind of place can make them wary?
Isla was trapped in her own thoughts until she heard a knocking coming from the door.
"Come in" Isla spoke calmly.
Edrii walked in with two meals, "Dinner time. Have something to eat to restore your energy. There's also some soft porridge for your sister. You can feed it to her when it cools down a bit" she explained softly.
"Thank you very much", Isla said.
Edrii put down the meals on the table then walked over towards Sila, which caught Isla's attention. Wondering what Edrii was doing, Isla remained silent.
A serene white glow appeared from Edrii's hands. Making the frowning eyebrows that Isla had been caressing, show some immediate relief.
Isla suddenly understood her strange feeling when meeting the woman in front of her. Edrii is a healer. Thinking back on how badly injured Sila was, Isla knew that only a healer could heal the two of them so quickly.
Seeing Edrii's face becoming paler, Isla stood up, asking her "Are you alright? Would you like some help?"
Edrii ended the healing, her body slightly trembling, "Oh its alright. My strength isn't that good, so I couldn't heal her in one go. A little sleep and I'll be right as rain".
Isla thanked her once more while watching her leave, then she turned around and walked towards Sila with the porridge. She tested a bit first to make sure it was a suitable temperature, then tried to feed Sila a spoonful.
The only response was Sila's clenched teeth. Isla put the bowl down and using one hand to hold the spoon and the other hand to clench her sisters jaw, tried to open Sila's mouth manually.
For some reason Sila seemed to dislike this harsh method of feeding, scrunching her face and refusing to open her mouth.
Isla wondered if Sila was just pretending to sleep and wanted to make things difficult, but remembering Sila taking that attack for her, she quickly softened.
Looking at this sister of hers, the one that has been there with her since the beginning, Isla could only sigh. Taking a spoonful into her mouth, she resolutely lowered her lips to meet the other's, and after seeing the method was effective, started to feed the porridge diligently.
The bowl wasn't large and using that method it soon bottomed out. Isla raised her head and saw Sila with a contented expression on her face.
Again she wondered if Sila was just pretending to be asleep, but seeing that she was still lying there peacefully, she still decided to wait until Sila woke up naturally.
Isla got up and walked to the table, placing the other bowl down, before she herself sat down and began to eat her meal. Although the meal was cold by that time, Isla's cheeks were still blushing, remembering what she had just done.
After the meal was done, she hastily cleaned up before laying down, trying her best to forget the feel of Sila's lips. Unfortunately she couldn't even escape in her dreams.
The next morning Isla awoke, her eyes bloodshot, showing her tiredness. She couldn't believe feeding her sister mouth to mouth would even trigger such an inappropriate dream, which kept her waking up until the early morning before she managed to just pass out from exhaustion.
Waking up after a couple hours made her feel terrible, but she quickly sat up and turned to look at Sila, who was lazily eating breakfast while watching her sister's unexpected movements.
A faint smile adorned Sila's face and she said, "Morning sister. You look terrible".
Isla saw that Sila could still think about joking with her and she rushed onto Sila's bed, hugging her, tears streaming down her face.
Sila's heart felt sore seeing Isla crying, so she patted her sisters back and softly coaxed, "It's okay Isla, don't cry. Aren't I fine right now?"
Isla looked up at Sila's face, her eyes blurred from the tears and she gently rubbed her sisters smooth face. Running her hand along her jaw, across her fluttering eyelids, around her nose. Even if she knew Sila was safe, she still couldn't help but break down when she finally saw her awake.
This had been the longest time the two had been separated. Even if they were right next to each other, Isla needed to hear her sisters voice everyday. It was the most comfortable thing to her.
Sila knew how much her injuries had scared Isla, so she remained still, allowing her to do as she pleased.
Isla seemed to have had enough, and leaned towards Sila, her lips slightly touching the other's ear, "Please don't do that again, Sila. I've never been so terrified than at that moment. I-i-I thought you were dead" she whispered, her voice filled with fear.
Sila kept patting Isla's back, making promises that she would never dare. But only she knew that even if the situation happened again, she would still push her sister out of the way. Just as she knew Isla would do the same if the positions were reversed, but there was no need to make the morning unhappy by speaking out about it.
After the two had settled down, Sila asked what had happened in the days she had been unconscious.
Isla told her about who had saved them and what they wanted. Not forgetting to mention her own speculations about the group, as well as the situation.
Sila looked thoughtful, "This doesn't sound like a bad thing for us". She could see that Isla was about to refuse, so she quickly continued "Wait. I know you're a little worried about jumping into this potentially dangerous quest after what just happened, but we can only get stronger if we walk that thin line between life and death".
Isla sighed, she knew that Sila's mind was made up and nothing could change it. Even she wasn't reconciled to give up, she just felt a little timid after the previous incident.
