"Okay. Let's figure out what the task is first, before we decide whether to do it or not" Isla said with difficulty.
Sila saw how uncomfortable her sister was. She couldn't help but condemn herself for causing her always well put together sister to show such fragile emotions. Sila could only smile comfortingly, "What you said is right. I'll let you decide if we participate".
The two were whispering to each other inside when they heard the growing noise coming from the outside. Knowing the people outside were waking up and getting the day started, Isla looked at Sila and said "Let's wash up and head outside".
Sila nodded and followed her sister to get ready.
Outside the house, the group were busy getting ready. Harold was preparing the meal. Hearing the door to a house open, he looked back and saw the twins that they had been waiting for. Knowing how intimidating his face was, he tried to soften it before saying, "Good morning ladies. My names Harold."
Isla could finally put the voice to the name and she calmly replied "Good morning Mr. Harold. I'm Isla and this is my sister Sila. Thank you for taking us in for so long".
Harold knew that these sisters wouldn't be so unguarded. Although the two must've been new to the guild, as they weren't there the last time the group needed to return to Rusvil, but to have already reached the silver rank in that time, showed that the two girls in front of him were stronger than they appeared to be.
"It's not a problem. How about after breakfast, we all have a chat?" Harold asked Isla.
Isla knew that he wanted to discuss cooperation. She and Sila had already agreed to hear out the proposal before deciding if they would help or not, so she quickly agreed.
The rest of the group soon awoke and they and the twins went through the pleasantries. Introducing themselves.
Sila observed the group while Isla was busy chatting. She found that they had a clear division between duties. Definitely as Isla guessed, a strong team with tacit understanding. She hadn't even seen them in combat yet, but she could guess they were definitely stronger than the team they had met their first time in the outskirts of the Rind forest.
That team centred itself around the magician. Which was effective against numerically weaker opponents, like them. But if the opposing team could match their abilities, the downsides would naturally appear.
The team in front of her showed a calm and equal division. None of them felt as if they thought themselves the most important in the group. More like they had their responsibilities and knew what was expected of them.
Edrii was the healer, but she didn't seem to be just healing. Sila could see the callouses on her hands, from using weapons. Not something just a healer would be expected to do.
Harold was obviously the one that proposed the decisions, but he obviously cared about the opinions of the rest of the group. Looking at his huge frame, Sila guessed that he was probably a former soldier. He just had that bearing about him. She could guess that he would charge into battle from the front, a heavily armoured warrior.
Rale was an insidious looking man. The twins were a little weary of him, but after they heard the conversations between him and the rest of the group, as well as when he spoke to them, they knew he was much kinder than he looked. The way he carried himself showed his speciality was speed. They could see their own kind easily. The callouses he inadvertently showed were definitely from holding a dagger.
Irene was much easier to understand. She like her muscular frame was extremely outspoken. Loud and hearty. They had read from the books they had bought in Rusvil that these were common traits of berserkers. A somewhat uncommon class of warrior that could gain immense strength for a short amount of time, surpassing their original limits. However that would leave them much weaker after the time had passed. So definitely a class with distinct advantages and disadvantages.
Last was Andir. A thin, bearded old man. He carried himself with an elegance that seemed out of place, but not unpleasant. Sila could see from the small spells he would cast to help him complete his duties, that he was a magician. He didn't have the arrogance of the few they saw in the Rusvil guild, showing a wiser demeanour.
After understanding the roles and outputs of the group, Sila relayed her findings to Isla, who agreed with her guess.
But just as the two of them were understanding the group of five. The five of them were doing the same.
They had seen many people in their days of adventuring, and knew the kinds of people they came across. They were always guarded against anyone that they came across. As they spent most of the time together, they naturally built up a level of trust between each other that they wouldn't give to outsiders. So when the other people and groups they cooperated with either escaped or betrayed, they had never been taken by surprise, because they had never expected anything from them since the start. This rule had kept them safe and well in their long adventuring careers.
They could see that Isla was the older of the two. She appeared to be the leader, but she would always look towards her sister, as if asking her approval. At the very least she was the one that dealt with others more, while Sila seemed more reserved. But they both had an extraordinary level of tacit understanding that the group had never seen before. As if the other person was of greater importance to themselves. The two were so strange, judging from how they were found, the twins were both speed oriented warriors. They used the same weapons, the same armour, the same abilities. As if they were the same person, split into two.
The group had met twins in their adventures before, but never had they seen such intriguingly identical twins. They had a little more interest in seeing the two sisters, like a little puzzle that they wanted to explore.
