After I woke up I laid there for a long time thinking. Moments after I woke up the screen telling me where to sign in popped up.
I just started at it as the reality of my life sunk in. The reality of the sign in system hit me.
Years ago I tried so hard to grow. I wanted to become strong. Though I guess I settled for this life, cause it made me happy.
However now with this screen. Today it just feels like a looming threat. Like it's warning me of impending danger.
Have I fallen into the deep bliss of pure ignorance? Is this power that I will need to protect my small family? Is it compliance or death? Is this system something I need or something I have?
The more I thought about it the more anxious I felt. The more I descended into anxiety.
I have become one of the people of this world. I have a happy family. I don't want to loose it.
Though what if this power will lead us headfirst into doom.
Honestly there is just too many unknowns. To many maybes. To much guesswork and not enough information on the true purpose of this system.
Though to be honest I don't know a lot about this world either. I obtained this body's memories many years ago.
Though they never went to school. They lived on the streets. Alone their entire life. Maybe that is why I was so happy to settle. Cause it ment I was no longer alone.
Though in my past life, I definitely tried harder. Did I settle cause I died? Because I didn't want to try anymore? Was I worried about dieing again and it all being for nothing?
Over the ten years I lived here I became far more educated. I mean I work at antique store. I would be more strange if I didn't know things.
I learned magic. I loved it. I always wished I had enough mana to learn more. Being a mage is something I truly wanted.
Now I can, but I'm unsure about it. I had accepted my limits in this body.
Now...now what.
I closed the screen. "Status Window. Please."

Beast Taming Lv1'
I could increase my mana right now. It's literally right there. No one can stop me. It won't hurt anyone.
Though if I need it latter and waste it here, I forever regret it.
I finally click on Beast Taming.
'Beast Taming Level 1
A skill that can be used to get beasts to follow your orders. It will not work if the beast does not understand the order. At this level it will only work on the weakest of monsters.'
This isn't like the sign in systems I read about on Earth. I'll have to grind and earn everything I get.
I know I will regret not using the system. If one day it takes me to far I will end it myself.
Maybe I'll end up telling someone. They'll tell me what is too far if I lose sight of it. Though that will put them in danger. So they will have to be strong and trustworthy.
I guess I know what decision I've made. I guess it was a bit of an inevitably.
I finally get up and prepare to leave. I make a quick breakfast and change my clothes. Blobbles follows me around seeming to notice a change in me.
"I'm sorry buddy. I'll be back later. So, be good." I tell him as he seems exited to go outside again.
I want the least amount of attention as possible. I go to brush my teeth before leaving. I steal myself Infront of the mirror.
I'm very average looking. To a kind of absurd level.
Brown hair, brown eyes, average height, and average build. Average face. A person that will fade to never be seen if it wasn't for my Charisma.
Being average isn't bad. It's a weapon that makes me invisible. Giving people my description, would give the description of millions.
That's why I should never waste stats on charm. Actually I know what to do.
"Status Window please and thank you." I spoke out with my decision made.
I placed my extra stat in Agility.
Agility is the best bet for me right now. It is easy to hide and the most practical. Fighting should be my final option. Running is just better.
I do not fear being called a coward. If they want to fight, they will have to be fast.
Though agility is more than just speed. It includes flexibility, and motor control. I will be able to move more precisely. Something I could always use.
I don't feel much change afterward but I know for sure the change happened. I open and close my hands and move around a bit.
Yes. It is different. I'm different now.
I pull the hood of my cape over my head. I lean down to pet my Blob.
Okay, time to go.
