"You think so?" the blacksmith asked. The alchemist shrugged.
"Maybe, but we have to see. I could be wrong but in case he has talent for every profession, then that is something else to discuss with the others," he replied.
"You think he can do the more obscure and less famous profession as well?" the blacksmith pointed out. There are 5 well-known professions in any place, due to how their existence helps elevate the strength and capability of the faction they are under.
The 5 major professions are alchemist, blacksmith, item crafter, rune specialist, and formation maker. Besides the 5 major professions, there are also the less known but still important professions.
From the Botanist, whose duty is to tend the herbs and spiritual trees, to the Beast Tamer, who focuses on taming and domesticating beasts for use by any forces employing their assistance or the force they are from.
While there are many other miscellaneous professions, the two chosen is the more famous one, at least in the less famous professions. There are just too many to name after all, even the simple one like Smelter and Ink Maker is considered a profession of their own.
The alchemist thought about it some before answering, "That depends. Whether he is talented in all of the main professions or not. If not, then he likely won't try to learn them. Even if he is talented in all 5 main professions, he probably won't learn them for the fact it will take much of his time,"
Hearing the alchemist's explanation, the blacksmith nodded. After all, what he said is both correct and logical.
"Let's see how tomorrow goes for him then,"

The next morning, he arrived at the Craftsman Alliance building. The receptionist didn't bother him, pointing him to the item crafter department, though not before giving him the blacksmith token, saying something that his tutor from yesterday had forgotten to give it to him.
He honestly almost forgot about it. But considering how important the token is in determining one's identity as a cultivator with a profession, it makes sense for them to remember it and give it to him.
After all, if he tried to sell a weapon he made without them, the credibility and quality of the blade will likely be questioned so it's important for him to keep his token and not lose it.
He went to the item crafter part of the building and was greeted by an item crafter with a similar rank to his previous instructor. Unlike them, the instructor is a woman this time, who looked at him before showing him the way to the crafting room.
Similarly, the crafting room had several different tools arranged in racks and cabinets, which should be used in making, well, tools. The item crafter seemed keen to let him look around the room as she let him wander inside it for some time.
Once he was done with his little examination, the item crafter began her lecture, "You already learned from the buff guy, right?" while Ryker didn't know of any person named 'buff guy," it didn't take him long to realize the item crafter was talking about the blacksmith that was his instructor the previous day.
He nodded, making the item crafter chortled, "And he said something about blacksmithing and item crafting being similar, right?" once again, he nodded. After all, it was the truth.
"Well, he's not wrong. Blacksmithing can be considered a part of item crafting but at the same time, it was a branch of its own. Blacksmithing can be considered item crafting but with only metals and some minor auxiliary materials while item crafting is literally, everything else.
Item crafter, similar to other main professions, has its branches. Most item crafters have their specialization. The most important branch, is, of course, the Item. The branch has the most number of Item Crafter specialized under it, most item crafters focused in this branch.
The second one is Transport. Transport includes flying artifacts, enchanted vehicles such as boats and carriages along with anything that will help people to move across a large distance in a short time. While it makes life more convenient, it's hard for regular item crafter to create one so it's why the number of people specializing in Transport is not many.
Then the last one. It's a doozy as it could also be considered a branch of other professions as well. This branch is called Builder. They are in charge of making strong buildings that can withstand powerful attacks.
While they make buildings from strong materials, they sometimes apply both formations and runes on the buildings to make them stronger, hence why they are considered to be branches of the other two professions as well.
As for items, the grades are split into two, Item and Artifact. The easiest way to describe is that an Item is referred to as everything created by Genesis Grade Item Crafter. When one becomes a Spirit Grade Item Crafter, they will be called Artifact Refiner as the items they created are a lot more powerful than what an Item Crafter could create.
That's all about Item Crafter you need to know. Because you are just a beginner, I'm going to have you make a simple defense token. If you think it's the same as talismans, that is because it is something we copied from them, except it can be used many times but it is often more expensive than talismans and if it's broken, even though it is only used once, then it can no longer work.
The reason we even created it even though defense talismans and armor already exist is that we wanted something that can be easily created by low-rank Item Crafter and it is a good substitute if one didn't have good armor.
Any questions," she asked, Ryker shaking his head. "Good, now I'm going to show you how it's done and then you can copy me,"

"Well, I know you a prodigy in both blacksmithing and alchemist but I don't think you are a prodigy in item crafting as well," the item crafter said, which made sense as Ryker had created a defense token after watching it the first time.
There are some defects considering he only just learned how to craft an item but it's not too noticeable, showing how skilled he was, not to mention his manipulation of qi to make the token more effective.
"Well, then, looks like you going to get another token to show how you are now a Genesis Grade 1 Item Crafter," the item crafter said before leading him to the receptionist.
The receptionist, looking like she had expected this hand his token over. After receiving a new token, Ryker said his farewell before leaving, not aware of how his ability had spread across the Craftsman Alliance executives of the Karbin City.
