Chapter 95 - First Mission in Mariz City

As per schedule, the group headed towards their respective mission collection. While they have a close relationship with the Hal Family, the group still wants to remain independent, only depending on themselves if they can handle it.

If only they suddenly found themselves in trouble above their weight class, would they ask the Hal Family for help. One of the things they can do for themselves is find a source of income.

Most of their income comes from taking missions from the Adventure Guild with Ryker providing the most because he usually takes the harder missions. Not that the others didn't contribute, just their rewards are meager compared to his.

Still, they take missions, not only to have some extra source of money but also to train themselves. The mission of exterminating beasts and bandits would be a good way for them to measure and train themselves, getting them used to the dangerous life of traveling.

Their encounter with the Genesis Foundation bandits had made them work even harder, hoping to get stronger so they wouldn't suffer the same thing. Naturally, Ryker helped them by teaching them Celestial Energy Art.

With him as their teacher, both Ina and Era were able to comprehend the art to the top of the first level. For all high-grade Cultivation Art, they will have different levels, each for a different realm, though if one comprehension is high enough, one could get their Cultivation Art to the next level.

Besides that, he also taught the Yin and Yang Unity Art to Era. They had done it a few times, one of the reasons for her increase in cultivation realm. Now, in terms of strength, Era was the weakest, being at a 5th Stage Genesis Formation, followed by Ina who's at the 8th Stage, while Mashia is the strongest of his lovers, at peak Genesis Condensing.

His strength was the highest, of course, at the 5th Stage Genesis Foundation. He likely would raised in one more minor stage if he used the Deep Lake Lotus but he decided to wait until the formation at their house had been upgraded.

In the meantime, they would go finish the missions they had picked.

They headed outside as a group but later split up, each heading towards their respective missions.

Ina looked at the gathered beasts. A group of Iron Horned Beasts was her target, the creatures had been terrorizing a field responsible for producing food for the city.

She looked at the beasts, all of them at the 2nd Stage Genesis Beasts, with the herd leader at the peak of the 2nd Stage. She took out her spear and threw it at the leader, the weapon pierced through its head, killing it immediately.

"One down, 13 more to go," she said to herself, jumping towards the herd.

Era calmly observed her target, a single beast, though what made it dangerous was its strength.

"A Cloud Leopard, with strength similar to a 7th Stage Genesis Formation expert," she recited the information she had on the beast.

She calmly walked towards the beast, pulling out her daggers, imbuing them with metal qi. Besides Celestial Energy Art, Ryker also gave her a Cultivation Art related to Law of Metal, Acute Metal Scripture.

With it, her comprehension of the Law of Metal had risen, allowing her to use metal qi easier, though she still hadn't reached level one mastery yet. She calmly walked towards the beast, who vanished, an ambush predator.

She smiled, the beast would be the one to fall into a trap.

Mashia stared at the Golden-Winged Eagles, the pack had taken to the air the moment she exited her cover. She had expected the outcome, the sight of eagle beasts are considered to be the best of all beasts.

They then dived towards her, their talon ready to rip her to pieces. However, she was ready for them. Her hands turned to claw as she bisects the one closest to her. Some of them had hit her but she had turned her skin to dragon scales, the strength of her scales making her come out from their assault unscathed.

After a few more dives and more eagles getting killed, the leader wised up, screeching this order. The Eagles stopped dive-bombing her, instead raining her down with their feathers. She grimaced, her clothing getting torn by the falling projectiles.

Unlike regular feathers, Golden Winged Eagle's feathers were as hard as metal. If not for her dragon scale, she would have died from the bombardment. The relentless assault still took a toll on her.

Thankfully, she had expected they would use their range attack if their first attack failed. After all, she is a true dragon, and all true dragons could fly.

Ryker looked at the herd of Bronze Horned Rhino, their numbers reaching 50. Normally, such missions were classified as an A-rank mission, something he couldn't do, as he was still a one-diamond 2 star bronze adventurer.

The token from the Branch Leader of Alten City Adventure Guild had allowed him to take the mission, though he was warned he could only take one such mission. He was even told his point would be detected if failed the mission.

However, should he finish the mission, his rank would be raised to three diamonds. So, he had taken the mission. Besides, he has the utmost confidence in his ability.

He took out his new sword, his old one had been turned to scrap during his fight against the Genesis Core expert. He had used his point to get a sword made from White Steel, a Grade 4 ore.

He calmly observed the herd, the leader was a peak 4th Stage Genesis Beast. He used his mastery of Law of Fire to create a ring of fire around the herd, though it remained small to prevent them from panicking soon.

He jumped toward the herd, his sword raised, the action signifying him challenging the leader. The beast roared, stomping its feet as it looked at the human in front of it, its horn shined as it charged towards the one challenging it.

"Uhm? What is this?" the staff asked, already knowing what was supposed to be inside the storage ring he had given to her but couldn't comprehend it yet.

"That? That's the proof that we all finished our mission," Ryker nonchalantly said. The staff gulped as she inspected all the storage rings, her eyes widened more as she looked at each one of them.

By the time she was about to inspect Ryker's storage ring, she trembled before looking at it. When she looked at it, she let out a relief sigh. One that changed to a choking sound when he threw three more storage rings.

Trembling at the sight, the entirety of Adventure Guild gets to see the staff letting out a horrified screech, before leaving the dumbfounded group.
