Thanks to their guide, who showed the whereabouts of the Adventure Guild building, they easily found their way there. Even after seeing it yesterday, the building is still stunning.
The Adventure Guild building is relatively huge and more impressive compared to the buildings around it. However, compared to some of the buildings owned by the powers, it looked modest, the other's size and lavishness were more pronounced.
Still, it was more than enough to allow the traffic of adventurers coming in and out, the size of the crowds slightly overwhelmed the two. They press true though, joining the Adventure Guild would only bring advantage to them.
Entering the building, they spot the receptionist, walking towards one of the empty registries.
"Welcome to the Adventure Guild, would you like to put in a commission, or join the Adventure Guild?" the receptionist asked, giving them a smile as he asked the question.
"We would like to register as an adventure," Ryker replied, the receptionist nodded before giving them two forms.
"Fill in the information needed. After that, follow the staff to the training room so we can check your cultivation," the man explained.
The two quickly filled out the form, the man looking at them before nodding in satisfaction. "Please follow our staff," he pointed his finger towards another man.
"Follow me please," he motioned, the couple following the man. They soon reached a huge room, weapon racks, and training equipment laid to the side.
"Release your cultivation, please," the two nodded before they both released their cultivation.
The receptionist stagger a bit when Ryker unleashed a portion of his strength, almost falling on his butt.
"Genesis Formation?!" he exclaimed. He thought the young at most would be at the peak of Genesis Gathering.
"Please stop for now. I need to inform my superior, he will be the one to handle things for you now," the staff said, grabbing a jade piece, looking like he was sending a message.
Soon, a huge man appeared, scars adorning his arms as he looked at the two. Ryker's body tensed, the man's cultivation is at the Genesis Condensing, the next major stage after Genesis Formation.
"Please follow me to my office, we going to give you an overview of the Adventure Guild," the huge man exclaimed, leading them to his office.
Reaching the office, it was a modest one, similar to the building outside. The huge man ordered the staff to prepare a drink, all of them were seated as the huge man looked at them.
"You seem to have a question. Feel free to ask," the man said after looking at Ryker's expression.
"It just seems as long as you reach the Genesis Formation realm, you will be given a special treatment," Ryker voiced it out, yesterday's event still in his mind.
"Of course, while it was easy to go from Genesis Awakening to Genesis Gathering, the same could not be said about Genesis Gathering to Genesis Formation. There were about 100,000 and more Genesis Gathering experts. For Genesis Formation, about 900 or so, most of them are attached to a power inside the city.
Each power wants to have more powerful experts but to train them would take a long time. It's better to have many elites than one powerful powerhouse if you want to keep a watch over your assets.
Besides, sometimes there would be competition for resources, which would lead to fighting. To avoid the mass amount of destruction, only Genesis Gathering and Genesis Formation are allowed to participate. While losing one Genesis Formation expert would still be a great loss, at least they were easier to train compared to Genesis Condensing experts,"
Hearing the man's explanation, Ryker nodded. In a sense, having ties to an unknown Genesis Formation would let them recruit them more easily.
"If you don't have any questions, I would give you an overview of how the Adventure Guild operated," seeing the two in front of him shaking their head, he nodded.
"Adventure Guild is a powerful inter-realm force, one of the most powerful powers in the world. It is founded by a group of powerful experts without a force behind them to give them some form of protection.
They gathered many cultivators without backing, before slowly, the Adventure Guild was formed. Because we were a part of the force, we followed most of the rules and guides they set up, to keep things uniform, and to make management of a force expanding to every corner of the world easier.
When you join, you will be given an Adventure badge, the sign you are a part of the Adventure Guild. The badge will represent your rank would be presented on it,"
He took out a badge, a bronze badge with two stars on it. "There are three badge colors, bronze, silver, and gold, the lowest is bronze while the highest is gold. The color of the badge represents your cultivation level, the colors represent the three major grand realms.
The star on it shows your major realm, from one star to the highest, five stars. One star is for the Genesis Gathering and Genesis Formation, two stars for Genesis Condensing and Genesis Foundation, and so on.
The only thing on the badge that didn't get affected by your cultivation is the gems underneath, in the shape of a diamond. You can only get these diamonds when you accept and finish missions given by the guild. The more quests you do, the more privileges are granted and you will be allowed to access some of the high-tier missions.
To gain a diamond, you need to reach a certain amount of points. You can get them by doing missions. You can also use points to pose missions of your own without needing to pay any money to the guild. You can also exchange these points for items you want, from Genesis stones and crystals to pills, and even some weapons.
The next part will be the mission ranks. The ranks for the mission would have stars, grade and a color. For stars, it goes from one star to 9 star. The color is meant to separate the Grand Realm, with bronze for Genesis Grand realm, silver for Spirit Grand realm and gold for Source Grand realm.
As for the star, each star are meant for different major realm, at least for the bronze mission. One star for Genesis Gathering, two stars for Genesis Formation and so on. For grades, it goes from E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS, from lowest to the highest threat level, in that order.
.Most of the quests at E-rank and D-rank were errands, simple stuff like gathering herbs and so on. At least for the one star bronze mission that is. The higher quest could go from trying to get a powerful herb from powerful beasts or hunting those beasts.
Because you just started, you can only do D and E-rank missions. If you get enough points, you can get a diamond and be allowed to take higher-ranking missions. So, if you wish to rise in rank, you need to become stronger plus do more missions.
Oh, I almost forgot, because you are a Genesis Formation expert, you will have a supervisor attached to you, in this case, me. The supervisors' job is to oversee the more powerful adventurer, checking what mission they accepted and approving it so they could get their rewards, and so on,"
Ryker and Ina nodded, before Ina asked, "What about me? I'm just at the Genesis Gathering, wouldn't I have to do things the mundane way?"
"Because you are with him, you can skip the process, as long as you accept missions with him. But the points you get will be split," he told her.
"I have another question about the supervisor, how those one become a supervisor?" Ryker asked this time.
"Adventure Guild hires people for menial tasks, people in a position such as staff, janitor, and so on. But to be a member of the higher-up, even in the most remote of branches, one needs to be an adventurer first before you can get the position, and you still need to prove you can do the job properly,"
The huge man then waited, seeing how they didn't have any more questions, he put two badges on the table.
"This is your badge. It also functions as a point storage, every point you get will be put inside it. If you use your points, it will be taken. In case you lose it, you can submit a request for a new one, though you will lose all the points you get from it," the man gave them another detail.
"If that is all, you can check the mission boards if you want to take any missions. Just follow the crowds, you can't miss it," he said, the two excusing themselves before leaving the office.
