After their registration, Ryker and Ina decided to look at the mission board first. As their supervisor said, just follow the crowd, though they almost miss the board, the mass of people hiding the board from sight.
After seeing some of the missions they were allowed to take, they decided to leave for now. Ryker decided to head towards the hugest store in the city while Ina went back to the inn to watch over the little tykes.
'That guide is really a good one,' he thought in his heart. The ability to guess where the people he guided wanted to go to is a great advantage for him. 'Or he just gets used to bringing people to the most magnificent part of the city,'
As he weaved through the streets, it didn't take him long before he got to his destination. In a similar manner to the Adventure Guild building, it is the biggest one in the area. That's where the similarity ended.
The store was built with pristine marble, giving it some aesthetic as it looked like it was brand new despite being one of the oldest stores in the city. The signs were made of black metal, and adorned by golden engraving. The door to the store is made from high-quality wood, at least from his observation of what could be brass doorknobs, in short, a feast of extravagant.
Then again, the store, being owned by one of the three major families, did not sell daily needs or regular goods. It mostly sold luxury items, from beautiful dresses and accessories to cultivators' needs. The former is their main product while the latter is their best sells.
He entered, slightly floored by what he saw, the inside somehow being more extravagant compared to the outside. He looked around before spotting one of the staff, who currently looking around.
"Excuse me, where is the person in charge, I would like to sell some items helpful for cultivators?" he asked, the staff looked surprised before giving him a big smile.
"The manager is in his office. If you like to see him now, please follow me," Ryker nodded, the staff led him to the workers' area. They soon arrive at the office.
"Sir, someone like to sell cultivation items," the staff called out, the door opening soon after.
"Hello sir, please come in," Ryker entered the room while the staff waited outside. It is not something he could think of interfering with after all, he is just a simple staff.
"So, you wish to sell cultivation items. In that case, we split it into two categories, one is of the more common variants, things that can be easily found but only increase your strength a little. You need to sell it in bulk or we won't accept it.
Next would be the more valuable items. You can sell them in the store for quick money or you can put it in an auction, though you have to wait until the auction is done before you can get your money," the manager explained.
Ryker then looked into his storage rings before asking, "Can we go to a different room, I have a lot of items that can be sold in bulk unless you wish to make a mess in your office,"
"Of course, follow me," the manager left the office, Ryker following him. Behind him, the staff followed.
They reached the storage area, where they were more than enough space to fill it with 200 people.
Seeing the space, Ryker took out one of his storage rings before pulling out a lot of spirit fruits and herbs. Thanks to the properties of his storage ring, the items never lost their efficiencies, making it look like it was still fresh.
The manager's eyes bulged, 'No wonder he said he needed a bigger room, this is more than enough for a week,' he thought to himself.
However, he was not done yet, he pulled another storage ring before pulling everything inside. The manager's eyes twitch, 'What kind of luck he had to get so many herbs and spirit fruits,'.
After that, he took another one. The manager was afraid he going to pull another batch of spirit fruits, "Please apparaise these items for me," Ryker asked, causing the man to let out a sigh inside. He don't think he could handle it if he pulled another filled storage ring.
"This is!" the manager exclaimed, while Ryker didn't pull out too many items this time, he did take several of the highest-grade items, something that couldn't be ignored by the manager.
"This is worth a lot, sir. But the question is how do you wish to sell it?" the man asked, his mind still in shock.
"I want these to be sold in the store while this pile is to be sold at the auction," he split up the items into two piles, the smaller one intended for the auction while the rest to be sold in the store.
"Alright, boy, called the other workers to haul all of these goods and get some of our specialists to help in appearing and storing the high-quality goods," he ordered, the staff started running, before returning in just 5 minutes, with people in tow.
The group didn't talk, acting in tacit understanding as they were more than used to menial work. After listing the items and their amount, the manager looked at him with a genial smile.
"While we can't get the money from the auctioned items yet, you can still get the money from the other items," he said.
"I want the money now," Ryker replied, the manager looked at the jade slip before nodding.
"I already calculated how much the items are worth, about 50 gold pieces," gold pieces differ from gold coins in terms of both value and shape, being 10 times in value and a bar form.
The common people never use it as such things are something they would likely never see in their lifetime. Only great powers used it, mostly to do high-deal transactions between each other. While it seems like a lot, the amount is worth about 5,000,000 copper coins. To powerful families, it's about half the amount they use on a monthly basis. They need money to raise cultivators too.
"Keep it for now. I would like to browse goods sold first," the manager nodded in understanding. It's not the first time a seller uses the money they earn to buy the store's goods, after all.
After looking around, Ryker bought several things, from accessories for Ina and the girls and toys for the boys to some cultivation items to increase the two oldest strengths.
After taking it from what he earned, he still has around 16 gold pieces. Enough to pay for their stay for another month. He left the store, stopping at a bookstore and buying several books, both for him and Esran.
He then returned, the excursion for the day had been fruitful.
