Fret was quite surprised at how Ariana was asking about his master's whereabouts. The way her eyes looked around as she searched him made his heart swell with happiness.
'Finally, things are progressing' he thought as a smile crept on his lips but unfortunately, he had to break her heart.
"No Miss Ariana, Master is not yet home but he said he would return before the dinner," Fret said maintaining the smile and watching her face slump in disappointment.
"Is that so?" Ariana asked with a glint of sadness in her tone.
Fret smile falter when she bobbed her head and left from there without asking anything further. He could see the sparkle in her eyes dim when he said, Lucian would return at dinner.
Sighing, he then turned around when his eyes caught the sight of Paige who stood by the kitchen wall staring at them with narrow eyes.
