Olivia later went out to meet Fred at the balcony, they were sitting opposite direction "Have you had your lunch, before coming here?" asked Fred in a lovely manner.
"Yes, I have." replied Olivia and she noticed Fred hadn't changed back to his old way, and thought to herself he had changed truly
"So tell me what happened at school today, and how did you win the debate?" he asked curiously
"The topic is teachers are better than doctors." she said delighted
"And you, Art class won the debate?" he asked surprised
"Yes!" she replied
"Doctors are better than teachers, what're you telling me. They saves life and..." he explained
"I know right, but teachers made the doctors." she cut him off.
"Really?" he asked abruptly
"Yes." she said
"I already knew we'll win the debate." she added confidently
"How?" he was stunned
"Firstly I prayed to God and i believed he will help the art class to win this time and i also prepared well. Do you know that, it had been the science student all these while winning all the competition? They always feel they're the only best student in the school." she burst out
"And you believed it's God that done it this time around?" he asked her surprisedly
"Yes." she said
"It's you guys handiwork dear." he said suddenly
"Yes and with God help together." she said vividly
"I don't believe in that." he disagreed with her statement
"You don't believe in God?" she asked astonished at him again
"Yes. I mean if God exist truly, why did he let bad things happen?" he asked emotionally
"It's not God that let bad things happen but the devil." she corrected his error immediately
"Uhmn." he said not satisfied
"I know you're a science student that makes you not to believe in existence of God." she pointed out to him
"You think so? I have friends that are science students and they believe in God." he emphasized
"Alright." she said and looked at him "God loves you Fred, he is a good God." she said gently
"If you say so." He replied and added "I remembered I asked God to help us win the school trophy twice that year. It's usually art class that normally win the trophy but God didn't answer me even before then there was a time. You know what I don't want to talk about it." he stopped abruptly and faced Olivia
"Okay! I understand you." said Olivia softly. "And I believe if you asked God again he will do it this time around." she said
"Hmm. I don't think so." he said flatly
"If you can give your life to Christ and believe in him and see if God will not win the match for your department." Olivia challenged him "When do you have the department match again?" asked Olivia suddenly.
"This coming Friday." he said
"Okay, I will urge you to give your life to God and ask forgiveness from all sins and you can go ahead to ask him what you want." she said expecting him to say something
"Alright I'll do as you said." he finally said
"I pray you guys win this time around." said Olivia smiling at him.
He was lost at her smiling face and encouraging words. He believed all what she told him. This was unlike him, he noticed everything had changed within him, he was not the cruel or mischievous one again, he is different now.
"What're you guys talking about, or am I missing something..." said Annie walking bristly towards where Olivia and Fred was sitting down beside her was Cece looking over at Olivia puzzled.
Cece was shocked to see Olivia sitting with Fred calmly and she was furious with her at the same time.
"Oh I remember, it's the game!" said Cece she thought to herself and smiled wickedly "Hi Olivia, you guys look good together didn't they?" asked Cece turned to Anita in a pretending way.
"Yes I think." said Anita indifferent and she sat down next to Olivia.
"Fred you were not picking your calls." said Cece annoyed.
"Oh, I dropped my phone inside." said Fred innocently.
"I see!" she replied looking at Olivia eyeball to eyeball angrily. Olivia quickly turned her face away "I think she was the reason for you to drop your phone inside, it's unlike you Fred." said Cece looking at Fred bewildered. Cece noticed his attitude had changed and thought Fred had finally fallen for Olivia.
"Why did you come here?" asked Fred suddenly.
"Can't I come to visit you again?" said Cece surprised at Fred response
"I didn't say that," replied Fred nonchalantly
"I know you don't say that." said Cece annoyed
"Okay I'm sorry for not picking your calls." he begged her and Cece brightened up again
Olivia got up to excuse herself "That's all Fred, I'll be heading inside!" said Olivia gently
"Alright Olly, thanks!" said Fred
"Olivia will you go out with me? I need to get something outside." said Anita and Olivia agreed to go out with Anita. They both went outside.
"What did I heard you call her?" asked Cece surprised.
"You mean Olly?" he asked innocently
"Yes." replied Cece
"That's her name." he said chuckled
"I know, she's now Olly to you." she said scornfully.
"Whatever." he said nonchalant
"I think you've fallen for her now." said Cece in a serious tone.
"What?" shouted Fred astonished at her.
Cece thought Fred wouldn't fall for Olivia and she thought Olivia was just like every other girls.
"You heard me right or is she one that fall for you?" asked Cece again
"We're not dating, we're just friends." replied Fred
"Really, why friend with her in the first place? Was it not because of the bet?" asked Cece confused
"Bet?" asked Fred speechless
"Oh, have you forgotten? she asked surprisedly at him "The Game Fred!"
"I remembered!" he said after some minutes "It's nothing Cece. We're just friends." he said assuring her
"I don't believe that, it's game you're playing with her, you guys are not supposed to be friends." said Cece in a furious manner
"Whoa, can we forget that now?" he said softly and stood up.
"Where are you going?" she asked
"I'm going out now. I need to catch up with the boys." he said looking sideways "See you in school tomorrow, bye." he said and walked out.
"Really." she looked at him bewildered and thought to herself. "I know he's lying about them be friends and I will definitely find out. Friends my foot!" she shouted and felt betrayed. "I will keep my eyes on her and definitely find out!" she stood up angrily and walked away.
The following week, Fred department won the match, he was so excited and couldn't wait to tell Olivia the news. Olivia was walking home with Peter both were discussing about her birthday that would be coming up next week
"Where do you want to celebrate it Olly?" asked Peter anticipating
"I don't know yet." she replied uncertainly
"Okay! Do you know it's during the school week?" he asked
"Yes I know." she replied firmly
"So, where do you have in mind to celebrate it?" he asked again
"I think It's better i celebrate it at grandma work place?" she said with a grinned on her pretty face
"Really?" he asked not satisfied with the idea
"Yes." she replied with a pleased smiled
"Why?" he asked
"There's no better place I can celebrate it!" she replied softly
"Alright." he said dejected.
"What's wrong?" she asked astonished with his sudden attitude
"Nothing." he replied pretending not to show how unhappy he was with her plan to celebrate at her grandma work place. Olivia already knew Peter was lying. She knew Peter doesn't know how to hide his feeling because he was a pure and good guy.
"It's obviously seen in him, that he was not happy." Olivia thought of how to convinced him that those people are nice family. She said after a thought "The Smith family are nice people." she continued gently
"I didn't say that." he quickly cut in
"They're lovely people and..." she said again
"I know Olivia!" he cut her off again "Just lemme know the time you'd be having it." he said finally with a genuine smile
"Okay no problem." she said pleased to heard him say that. They started walking along together.
"Are you following me home?" he asked suddenly surprised she wasn't turning back home
"Yes or you don't want me to?" she asked chuckled and noticed something on his hands. "What's that Peter?" asked Olivia.
"Oh that's the wristwatch Anna gave me." he said happily.
"On your birthday?" she asked shocked
"Yes, I love the wrist watch." said Peter cheerfully
"Oh I see." said Olivia jealously.
"Are you jealous?" he noticed her attitude changed
"What! Jealous?" said Olivia, she was acting up to be cool and she chuckled in a pretending way
"Aren't you?" he asked, teasing her
"Come off it, why should I be jealous of Anna. She likes you and you know that." she replied arrogantly
"And you, don't you like me too?" he asked suddenly and Olivia was taken back.
"Yes, no!" she said quickly
"Yes?" he asked expectantly
"Yes you're my friend," she carefully said
"Why did you say no before? Or what were you thinking?" he asked her suspiciously.
"I mean, I like you. You're my best friend right?" she quickly changed the topic
"Uhmn." he replied not satisfied with her answered.
They both entered inside and saw Peter's mom seated at the sitting room.
"Good afternoon ma!" They both greeted.
"Hi Olivia dear! Nice seeing you again." said Peter's mom cheerfully.
"Yes ma!" replied Olivia
"How're you doing and your grandma?" asked Peter's mom
"We're all fine, thank you ma." replied Olivia politely
"Mom, are you going out?" asked Peter, he hugged her mother
"Yes dear!" replied his mom
"Okay mom!" said Peter
Peter excused himself and entered inside the living room to change while Olivia sat down and waited for him.
"What will you like to eat Olivia?" asked Peter's mom
"Anything ma." replied Olivia
Peter's mom called the maid, she came out to offered Olivia chilled juice and biscuits before heading outside.
"This is your juice, please enjoy." said the maid kindly and went inside.
"Thank you." said Olivia politely.
Peter came inside and joined Olivia, he sat down beside her.
"What're you eating?" Peter took part of her biscuits and ate it.
"Why did you eat my biscuits without my permission?" asked Olivia playfully.
"Is it yours?" he asked grinning
"Yes, it is mine." she said in a serious tone
"Whoa, I thought you like me?" he said playfully.
"And so." she replied him nonchalantly
"If you like someone you'd share with them right?" he asked suddenly
"Or was that the way you shared with Anna?" asked Olivia grinning.
"Now I see you don't like me." replied Peter regretfully
"Duh. Go and eat her biscuits." she said playfully and packed the biscuits away
"I like her too." he said teasing her.
"Really?" she asked amazed
"That's your business." he smacked at her grinning
"She likes you and she's my friend and I need to be sure you'd like her too." she said pretending to be serious
"I'm just joking. I don't like anyone." he said firmly
"Uhmn, really?" she asked not satisfied
"Yes I love myself that makes me selfish right." he said grinning.
"Get out jor! I need to start going now." she said and stood up.
"Really, I've missed you around here." said Peter emotionally.
"Aww, I missed you too." she said gently.
"When will you come and visit me, at home again?" asked Peter suddenly.
"Very soon I think. Or you can ask Anna to feel my space." she replied jokingly
"Come here Olly." he said beckoning to her.
"I'm not coming." she said
"I will not do anything, just move closer." he said chuckled
"No!" she said and noticed he will punch her, so she quickly ran outside.
