Chapter 20 - Dragon

The Dragon blinked, covering it's large beautiful orbs with a layer of shimmering scales. Celine was unable to tell the color of the dragon, it's scales seemed to be invisible but leaned on the darker side, creating a shade that reflected the sunlight and contrasted against the bright coloured iris.

It was like looking at a dark coloured mirror or glass, one would have to look closer to notice, especially so with the dragon cause it blended with it's environment so well... Apart from it's eyes that stuck out like a sore thumb.

The dragon seemed to have no pupil as two light blue orbs settled in one eyeball each, creating a beautiful image that seemed as if the dragon had a world living in it's eyes. She wondered how beautiful it would be if she saw the whole body of the dragon for the eyes to be this breathtaking.

"~Grrlllmmm" the dragon made a gurl that reverberated in the whole temple as white steam left it's body.

Celine was surprised. She couldn't understand why the dragon suddenly growled, although it was not aggressive, it was still puzzling for the dragon to growl when it could very well communicate in normal language. In her confusion, she heard another whisper, it seemed clearer than the ones she heard before and went directly to her ears... Or mind?

Celine tilted her head. Was the dragon sending it's thoughts to her mind? Was that why it could communicate with her but only use it's bestial means when speaking out loud? She wondered for sometime and answered to the dragon's concern.

"Umm, yeah... By any chance, do you have any water" she was really more concerned about her thirst than the wellbeing the dragon asked her about.

The dragon blinked again, and she saw something even more breathtaking. In front of her eyes, she witnessed water manifesting as the dragon's own glinted in a myriad of blue shades. Then the water rested on a transparent vessel and floated before her, the dragon blinked and it's eyes went back to the deep blue, it's orbs forever static.

She struggled to believe this. This...this was something no mortal was capable of.

Although the dragons lived almost as long as the gods, they could still be killed- that's why they were mortals. Unlike the gods that seemed unaffected by both time and aggression, the dragons were different. They could live as long as time itself but could be easily killed, even by fellow mortals if preparations were made. Though they were very powerful, which balanced their weakness.

She stared at the transparent fluid that manifested itself out of nothingness in doubt and racked her brain, going through all the things she was taught as a child to confirm what her eyes witnessed. She found none though. No mortal had the power to create. Especially from nothingness!

Another growl startled her, she looked up at the dragon, bringing her head to the utmost limit it could be raised and saw that it really wanted her to drink the water, well... Even if it didn't push her she would still have drank it from the Incredible thirst she was feeling.

She brought her hands to what seemed like the bottom of the vessel, it was transparent- or rather invisible just like the dragon. She smelled a heavenly but calming fragrance seeping out of the vase-like vessel as she ran her hands through it to confirm it's shape. Looking up again, she brought the jar close to her lips, there was no way a dragon would go such lengths if it wanted her dead, a swipe of it's claws could tear through space let alone a mushy woman like her.

Sipping from the jar, she made eye contact with the dragon the whole time the liquid entered her system. It seemed relaxed with no animosity directed towards her, and slowly, she reached that state too. Her tensed self calmed as the heavenly liquid landed in her belly.
